Very Provoking Story! My thirteen-year-old had to read this as part of his homeschool curriculum. At first I thought the subject matter would be above his head, but he couldn't wait to find out what was next in the amazing story of Don & Carol Richardson's ministry to the unreached Sawi people of Irian Jaya. It was touching to me as a parent when my son connected to the redemptive analogies that Don used to reach the Sawi. I too was crying at the marvel of God's timing throughout the whole story. Mr. Richardson is a master wordsmith and his use of descriptive language kept us captivated to the end. And what a good end it was!

This is an amazing story of why the gospel needs to reach the "ends of the earth." Every one should read this book! Their customs make it a difficult read in some parts but well worth reading to the very end!

I read this book for a book club. It is an amazing story that, as it unfolded, once again proved to me how wonderful God's grace and mercy are. Despite the fact that the Sawi were cannibals and an extremely violent people, the Richardsons lived among them and ministered to them. At the point where the "peace child" came into the story, I was in tears, realizing how Jesus became the Peace Child for all sinners. This book is a definite must-read.
