Product Description

The McCabe brothers have their hands full. Trouble on the range and trouble in town. But they never expected their sweet schoolteacher, Bethany Stafford, to join in the mix of woe. When her reputation is unfairly tarnished, Pastor Luke McCabe is quick to propose marriage. But Bethany wants better than just a marriage of necessity to save her good name. Could Luke ever come to love a plain "little field mouse" like her?

Dr. Annetta Cavanaugh has her own questions about men and their intentions. While Pastor Jake McCabe seems sincere, she still has her doubts about him. But after he accompanies her on a medical call, she sees a whole new side of him and can't help but admit her attraction to the handsome pastor.

However, there's evil brewing in town-a lawlessness that even the sheriff cannot tamp down. Finally, it comes face-to-face with both Luke and Jake and it threatens the lives of the women they love.

Publisher's Description

When Pastor Luke McCabe begins paying extra attention to her, Bethany takes his fine-sounding words with a grain of salt. She's heard sweet talk before. This time she is going to keep her mind on the Lord and on her new teaching job in the Arizona Territory. But when her reputation is accidentally soiled by the rakish town sheriff, Luke steps in with a marriage proposal to save Bethany's good name. Luke is certain their marriage is God's will...but Bethany is just as certain God must have someone else in mind to be Luke's wife. Someone sweet and spiritual, who knows the Scriptures better than Bethany does. Someone like Luke's old friend from home.

Publisher's Weekly

Boeshaar's (Unexpected Love) latest is set in Arizona Territory shortly after the Civil War. Bethany Stafford accepts an offer to teach in a small Arizona settlement in order to escape her abusive father. Tiny Silverstone has two ministers, brothers Luke and Jake McCabe; Paden MontaƱo, an attractive sheriff of questionable character; a brothel; a woman doctor, Annetta Cavanaugh, with a traumatic secret; and a town's worth of busybodies and men seeking wives. When Bethany is caught in a compromising position with the handsome sheriff, Luke McCabe offers to marry her to save her reputation, and Bethany agrees. As the two figure out their relationship, other subplots play out, involving Annetta's past and a brothel "working girl" trying to escape. Boeshaar has a good sense of plotting and pacing, but is less skillful at characterization. Some of the minor players veer into caricature (silent Indian Warring Spirit, gossipy prig Mrs. Winters). The evangelical Christian plot machinery is very prominent in the resolution of complications, which might narrow the potential audience. The novel is underimagined-- two minister heroes?--but Boeshaar's fans will be pleased. (May) Copyright 2010 Reed Business Information.

Couldn't put it down! The entire series was excellent and this wrapped it all up nicely. I was amazed at how much the author referred to God without it seeming unnatural for the conversations & characters. Do yourself a favor and get all four books and read them in order. I'm so glad I did.

This is the fourth in the "Seasons of the Heart Series" and centers on Luke and Jake McCabe as well as Bethany Stafford from the earlier series as they begin life and ministry in Silverthorne a typical community during the period of settling in the Arizona Territory. Indians, rustlers, and townspeople all add to the drama of this engrossing story.

"Undaunted Faith" has a parallel plot in which Luke and Bethany, engaged to be married, have a series of issues and misunderstandings to work through Jake helps Dr. Annetta Cavanaugh find forgiveness, hope, and self acceptance, as he offers her protection and an unexpressed love. Boeshaar develops strong believable characters and introduces a positive Gospel message within the flow of a natural dialog.

Unexpected plot twists add a compelling element to the sheer enjoyment of Boeshaar's unique style of writing Christian inspirational fiction. Favorable reviews already indicate that the Andrea Boeshaar fans are excited about "Undaunted Faith" the final book in the "Seasons of the Heart" series.

Undaunted Faith is the fourth book in the Seasons of Redemption series by Andrea Boeshaar. This has been such a great series to read, not to mention a great introduction to an author.

Here we follow up with the McCabe brothers, Luke and Jake. And then there is Bethany Stafford, now a schoolteacher in the new town they've traveled to. She doesn't like it much but it was better than the option she had before. But there's trouble brewing in town, and they're trying to work with some others to figure out the source. And in the midst of this swirling madness Luke proposes to Bethany. It's so sudden and she's afraid that he just wants to save her reputation.

Another development in the town is that there's a female doctor, which makes quite a few people less than happy. She's wrapped up in her work and doesn't want to have anything to do with men right now. But she does find a friend in Jake McCabe, though she isn't entirely sure what to think about him.

The town is in disarray with a brothel and other men trying to take control. The threat is extremely high. What will happen? And will people get hurt? Or worse yet, wind up dead? You'll just have to read to find out!

These books are so amazing with such rich stories. And the covers advertise the books really well and are pretty beautiful. Some of the characters in this particular novel are real snakes, like the sheriff who just got under my skin. But overall it was a very pleasant read, and I just wish there were more to it! It's definitely something you should pick up, especially if you like historical romance. Please check this series out at your local bookstore or online.

This is book 4 in a series and every one of them is wonderful. Andrea has created an amazing family through this series and it was so fun to visit them again and see where Luke and Jake McCabe are now (along with a couple of lovely ladies - Bethany and Annetta). There are some wonderful storylines involving redemption and forgiveness, and the fact that God's grace will truly cover anything. But they are wrapped up in this great story with enough action and romance to keep you engaged from page 1 until the very end. Great book!

Despite the many, many books I read, something unusual has occurred:

An author has caught my eye.

Undaunted Faith, number 4 in the Seasons of Redemption series, is the first book I've read of Andrea Boeshaar.

Not only was the plot rich and enjoyable, but Andrea also used scripture appropriately throughout the book, something sorely lacking in many Christian fiction books.

Although I read book 4 before the others in the series, Undaunted Faith could be read alone (or at least I didn't feel confused or left out of previous storylines). However, I am anxious to read the first 3 books so that I can discover the other stories of several of the mentioned characters.

Andrea Boeshaar is definitely a new-to-me author that I'll be trying again.
