Product Description

Contrary to popular belief, we do not have to be perfect to do God's work. Look no further than the twelve disciples whose many weaknesses are forever preserved throughout the pages of the New Testament. Jesus chose ordinary men - fisherman, tax collectors, political zealots - and turned their weakness into strength, producing greatness from utter uselessness. Join John MacArthur as he draws principles from Christ's careful, hands-on training of the original twelve disciples for today's modern disciple - you!

Love the Biblical/historical centered in this book. Great theological exposition on the disciples, how God used there strengths and weaknesses and how He taught them and molded them into mighty men by the power of His word and Holy Spirit. Great and enjoyable read, i would recommend to anybody.

This is an extraordinary book. I listened to Dr. MacArthur's radio series with the same title and I believe this is those sermons in book form. Although this book focuses on the disciples, I think it would be safe to say that all of the major characters in the Bible were ordinary men. This was certainly true of this ragtag group. Of course, the object of the book is to reveal what God can do not only with the disciples but with all of us ordinary men and women, too. Dr. MacArthur has done another outstanding job.
