Many people dream of becoming rich and famous. We're fascinated by the people who seem important, but often we don't notice those who are working behind the scenes. Most of us are familiar with the famous Bible stories and people in the New Testament, but in this book Rebecca Parkinson looks at twelve of the unnoticed characters, like Jairus, Mary Magdalene, Philip, Jesus's brother James and Silas, who are rarely mentioned but who actions were used by God to make a massive difference. Each chapter has three discussion questions. Appropriate for youth ministry from Middle School / Junior High and older.

The scriptures also contain the life histories and describe the events around other supporting characters who we perhaps pay less attention to.
This book looks at twelve New Testament characters including Jairus, Joseph, James, Philip and Cornelius among others. While we may feel less familiar with these characters, we are accustomed to their stories which are re-told in a captivating and lively way. Each story tells of God's promises fulfilled, His amazing plans, practical ways in which people demonstrated love, concern and faith. Above all these are portraits and examples of people with very human traits who were guided by their faith and trust in allowing the Lord to use them where they were.
These are fascinating character studies and while intended for youth study groups (each of the twelve chapters has study questions to reinforce learning), many of us could learn a lot from reading through these short chapters and seeing the example they leave us with.
Highly Recommended alongside the other volumes on 12 Hidden Heroes (OT Books 1 and 2 and NT Book 1). Accessible and Readable.
