I love John MacArthur's writing and books. And for the most part, this one as well. But I think his choice to pass up putting Esther from the O.T. in the book and instead he put Anna from the N.T, I don't get it. I get why Anna was a great role model and a Godly woman for sure, but to leave out Esther with the thousands of lives she saved, and her own life in constant jeopardy.. sorry John, I think you goofed. It's still informative as he always is and worth the read.
I'm using this book for a one-on-one Bible study. We are into the 4th week and we have learned so much about GOD'S MERCY AND GRACE. These were extraordinary women because of His mercy and grace. I respect John MacArthur so much and he helps us to know the cultures of the times these women lived, which is so very helpful. He helps us to remember that no person is beyond redemption if they will turn to Him in faith! We serve an amazing God and He has made me an extraordinary woman by His grace, mercy, and forgiveness!
