Publisher's Description

A classic from the author of The First Phone Call from Heaven

Maybe it was a grandparent, or a teacher, or a colleague. Someone older, patient and wise, who understood you when you were young and searching, helped you see the world as a more profound place, gave you sound advice to help you make your way through it.

For Mitch Albom, that person was Morrie Schwartz, his college professor from nearly twenty years ago.

Maybe, like Mitch, you lost track of this mentor as you made your way, and the insights faded, and the world seemed colder. Wouldn't you like to see that person again, ask the bigger questions that still haunt you, receive wisdom for your busy life today the way you once did when you were younger?

Mitch Albom had that second chance. He rediscovered Morrie in the last months of the older man's life. Knowing he was dying, Morrie visited with Mitch in his study every Tuesday, just as they used to back in college. Their rekindled relationship turned into one final "class": lessons in how to live.

Tuesdays with Morrie is a magical chronicle of their time together, through which Mitch shares Morrie's lasting gift with the world.

A panelist on ESPN’s Sports Reporters, Albom also regularly serves as a commentator for that network. He serves on numerous charitable boards and has founded two charities in metropolitan Detroit: The Dream Fund, which helps underprivileged youth study the arts, and A Time to Help, a monthly volunteer program. He lives with his wife, Janine, in Michigan.

My mother died from ALS in 1996 so reading this book about Morrie's battle took me back to those struggles Mom dealt with. I would read until I could not cry any more! Very personal and beautiful!! I happened upon this book as I was preparing to participate in this year's ALS walk so it reminded me, again, what a relentless disease ALS truly is. Even though reading this book brought back pain for me, it was an awesome story.

I've read a book of Mitch Album before and I was expected the same joy to read this...It's a little bit slower but it's a beautiful special story, I really enjoy his style and the lessons of life.

Although the words are secular in delivery, the message is aligned with scripture. A great read.

This is a great book and a "must read". This book will help everyone regardless of your situation in life. PS- The movie featuring Jack Lemmon is recommended.

This book is an amazing story of the perspective of a university professor dying from Lou Gehrig's disease. His insight into the things that really matter in life causes one to stop and think about what one is living for. An honest look at life and death from a man who gave all he could when most would have simply given up.
