Tell us a little about yourself. I am Dr. G. Thomas Sharp, the Founder and President of Creation Truth Foundation of Noble, OK. CTF is an educational research and development ministry that desires to develop Biblical Worldview beginning in Genesis for all levels of Christian believer. We have been in existence since August 1989 and have traveled all over America and the world in this attempt. See creationtruth.com
What was your motivation behind this project? I have been a science educator since 1965 and a minister since 1960. I have witnessed over the past forty years the steady declension of Biblical influence in American society and churches, having seen 60% of the sub-fifteen year olds become secularized in the church I pastored. I then discovered in serious research for a ph.D. that Darwinism and its many ramifications had seriously encroached into all ahead of learning and cultural exchange in the American culture and that by 1962 had laid the base for the eviction of God and His word from all aspects of American society. During the great expansion of Christian education since then many types of curricula have been written and what I noticed is most present good science but poor to mediocre Biblical worldview. I am convinced that Genesis 1:28 indicated that of the CORE (language arts, social studies, science and mathematics), science is the most favorable place to inculcate Biblical worldview. What we have done is to write a science curriculum based on the published standards of science in America and integrate into all concepts delivered the maximum Biblical worldview based on Dr. Henry Morris' tenets of Biblical and scientific creation.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? It is our desire that all who use this curriculum will be exposed to good science delivery without neglecting an optimal Biblical worldview.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? During the research and development phase for this project I was particularly impacted by two salient realities. First, was how little present science curricula seriously treats Biblical worldview and second is how many concepts in elementary science there are available for this exposure.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? My most important personal influences are the Bible, my wife, my children and my pastor. My favorite authors are Dr. Henry M. Morris, Dr. Gary Parker, Dr. Stephen Austin, Charles H. Spurgeon, David Barton, Martin Loyd-Jones, etc. The music I enjoy includes Christian hymns and patriotic songs, specially performed by orchestra or symphony.
