Very different curriculum! I have not yet used this with my kids, but I have purchased it and read through all of it to use for next year. I will be using it for a 7, 8, and 9 year old. I am very impressed with this curriculum. I purchased this set which does not include the teacher's book. I'm sure it has a lot of valuable information in it, but it is not necessary if you want to save some money. The student books themselves contain all of the necessary information. Although this is labeled for 3rd grade, it can easily be adapted for higher or lower grades. It looks like it will be great for multiple ages. Each step has a project. I plan on having my kids work on these projects as a team. They seem to lend themselves to cooperative learning very nicely. A lot of Christian science curriculum is simply standard science curriculum with Bible verses added. This is not. It teaches science as being inseparable from the truth of the Bible. I myself learned quite a bit just from going through it. Having been public school educated myself I did not have the benefit of learning science this way. If you want your kids to learn science with a stong Biblical foundation, then you will love this curriculum. It shows that the Bible is full of rock solid science. It is not "preachy" in nature at all. It simply presents the facts as they are and shows children how to make informed decisions. Very good for preparing a young generation to know what they believe and stand up for it. If this is half as fun for the kids as it has been for me so far, I will most assuredly use all four available grade levels for them. April 13, 2012
