Product Description

Right now, Truth is under attack and much is at stake. In a postmodern culture, Christians are caught in the crossfire of alternative Christian histories, emerging faulty texts, and a cultural push to eliminate absolute Truth altogether. As a result, many churches and Christians have been deceived. Worse still, they propagate the deception that poses itself as Truth! In The Truth War, John MacArthur reclaims the unwavering certainty of God's Truth and anchors Christians in the eternal, immovable promises found in His Word. Slightly Imperfect.

There are, sadly, not enough authors who are clearly explaining the dangers the church faces today. Truth is being bombarded from without in our so called postmodern age, but truth is also under fire from within Christendom. There is an objective standard for truth - the Scripture. This book should be in your library.

Go to the CBD website to get more reviews on this book. In my review on the CBD site I point out where Mr. MacArthur uses quotes out of context and, I believe, generally does not live up to the standards that need to be utilized in a work about truth. Truth is a topic that needs to be addressed but not at the cost of failing to be completely truthful.

John MacArthur provides a detailed, if not sometimes scathing application of Jude's call to "contend for the faith" (Jude 3) in the context of today's post modern relavistic truth culture that is seeping into the Church.I found the book an excellent, thought provoking wake-up call for Christians committed to Biblical truth. MacArthru exegetes Jude and provides ample historical context for contending for the truth in church history. The only weakness I found was his incomplete explanation, particularly in his opening explanation to some current ministries/teachings. He brings it back in good form at the end (so wait it out), but left me with the feeling that a few of his comments were personality driven.
