This book is exactly what I needed, and then some! It's helping me to become the Christian I was designed to be. It's opened my eyes to a few things that are very important to me in living a proper Christian life. I've decided to start a small group using Living on the Edge as our study. I can't wait to go more in depth and to share this book with my group. I highly recommend this book to anyone who wants to challenge themselves and step outside of their comfort zone to become all that you were designed to be.
The book promises to give insight into experiencing true spirituality--it does just that. Easy to read, easy to understand, penetrating to the heart and mind. If your desire is spiritual maturity then this book has to be read.
Pastor Ingram does an excellent job of clarifying and giving practical steps, through the use of Romans 12, to what it means to be a true Christ-follower, and to experience real connectedness in the Body of Christ. This book should be required reading, especially for servants in the church that are dealing with membership and how to encourage individual growth and spiritual community.
I borrowed this book from a friend, then decided after reading it that it should be in my home library. There's so much great advice on just being a good Christian. I'd recommend it to anyone searching for some guidance in their spiritual life!
I LOVE Chip Ingram's teachings and this is certainly at the top of my list. Chip takes Romans 12 and breaks it town piece by piece to describe the picture of what a disciple of Christ is! His passion in communicating HOW to experience 'true spirituality' comes through loud and clear. This book is a culmination of why he does what he does and why his ministry is named 'living on the edge'. Throughout the book, he gives testimony to ways in which God worked in, around, and through Him moving him to new levels in his walk with Christ. The preface says this book is for you if...you are spiritually stuck, tired of the spiritual status quo, wish you knew what God wanted from you, long to break free from habitual sin, desire to grow spiritually, need a clear pathway to spiritual maturity, or are discipling other believers.
In my opinion, ALL Christians should read this book. It is inspirational, Truth-filled, funny, real, gripping, and motivating at the same time! I just LOVE it!!
