Always resourceful, she reluctantly strikes a deal with the towns smooth-talking ladies man Dylan Taylor: Shell work with his ailing horse, Braveheart, if hell help her answer the reader letters.
Working closely with Dylan is harder than Annie imagined, and she quickly realizes she may have misjudged him. But her unwavering conviction that cowboys are nothing but trouble has kept her heart safe for years. And she cant risk getting hurt now.
The more Annie tries to control things, the more they fall apart. Her feelings are spinning out of control, and her sisters antics are making life increasingly more difficult. Annie knows she needs to turn the reins over to God, but surrender has never come easily.

Jane Austen fans will appreciate the subtle yet delightful Austen vibe that flavors this contemporary cowboy romance---and not just because Pride and Prejudice is protagonist Annie's favorite book. The Trouble with Cowboys is a fast, fun, and touching read with the added draw of a first kiss that is sure to make my Top 5 Fictional Kisses of 2012. So saddle up, ladies: We have a winner!
A fun weekend read with equal parts spunk and spice, Denise Hunter's The Accidental Bride will keep readers lassoed up tight 'til the cows come home.
Mackenzie Carol5 Stars Out Of 5The Trouble with CowboysAugust 14, 2016Mackenzie CarolQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0The Trouble with Cowboys is the third book in Denise Hunters A Big Sky Romance series, coming after A Cowboys Touch and The Accidental Bride. I have really, really loved this series so far, but I think this novel is my favorite of the three. The story was just so completely perfect, and I loved Dylan from the first moment I met him back in A Cowboys Touch so I was super excited to find out he was getting his own book. Once I started this story and was introduced to Annie, I found I loved her just as much, and I knew that they were a perfect match, so I was cheering for them from day one.
Annie Wilkerson is by far my favorite female character from this series. Although I didnt always agree with the way she bossed her little sister Sierra aroundeven though thats probably exactly how I would be if I were in her situationI still loved her fire and determination and her love for Sierra and her son. She is such a hard worker and just wants to do her best by her sister and the promise she made to their grandfather on his deathbed, and that is something worth admiring. Plus, I just love the way that Denise shows how human Annie really is. She struggles with fear and control just like so many others, and I love how Denise weaves that in, and shows how Annie can be open and realize her faults and learn to fix them.
Dylan Taylor is definitely one of my favorite characters in this series, but I havent yet decided if he or Travis from the second book is my absolute favorite. I love them both. Dylan may seem like a bit of a womanizer at first, but I knew from the start that it was just a faade to hide something deeper going on, and as I made my way through this book and learned the truth behind his scars, I couldnt help loving him all the more. My heart went out to him, especially as I watched him set aside his fears and open his heart to Annie, and that just made this book so much more enjoyable for me.
All in all, I really loved this book, and Ive already given it a permanent place on my all-time favorites list. Clearly, I cant give The Trouble with Cowboys anything other than all five bookshelves, and it has just helped me to remember once again why I love Denise and her writing. Im so glad I had the chance to read more of her older novels, and now Im even more excited for her latest book, Just a Kiss, that releases next month!

It was a relaxing lighthearted read. It has some good humor, I always say it is a good book if it can make me laugh out loud in the first few chapters. I will definitely be looking for more books by this author!
AIRmommyMinesotaAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5So so goodJanuary 23, 2013AIRmommyMinesotaAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I know i have found a great book when i can feel the tension between the characters as if I am going through it myself. hunter develops her main characters, Annie and Dylan, as well as her supporting characters, Sierra, Ryder, Aunt Lucy, etc. so well that it is easy to put yourself in their shoes and know why they are making the decisions they are making- good or bad.
Another aspect of Hunter's writing is that i feel that these characters could be my neighbors. Take them out of Montana and put them in Minnesota, and they would be! There is no piety, no overly perfect people. I like that. It is always best when the author presents her characters as "real" people. Annie's and Dylan's flaws actually endear them more to the reader than if they did not have hang-ups that hinder a relationship. You get the feeling that, even with happily ever after, there will still be fireworks and challenges that they will overcome together, knowing God is on their side.
Hunter, as an author, does a fantastic job of presenting the Gospel without making it preachy. As a reader, i like that. I don't need to be reminded with overtness that this is a story, essentially, about God working his healing in people's hearts by having it shoved down my throat.
I can't wait to read the first two books in the series now, and I don't feel like anything has been spoiled for me!
