Charles Haddon Spurgeon, the "Prince of Preachers," composed and polished The Treasury of David over the span of nearly half his ministry. This incomparable commentary and omnibus on the Psalms has been prized by Christians ever since.
Spurgeon's own commentary on every verse of the Psalms is extremely insightful, and by itself it quite rich. In The Treasury of David you will also find a wealth of illuminating extracts and quotes from hundreds of commentators, contemporaries of Spurgeon as well as the great Puritan expositors of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. Homiletical hints on almost every verse, concise sermon outlines, provocative seed thoughts as well as useful bibliographies and an index of authors offer practical help for preaching and teaching.
Whether you are teaching on the Psalms, studying them for personal devotions, or simply intrigued by the writings of Spurgeon, you'll enjoy this splendid classic.
Charles Haddon Spurgeon served for thirty years as preacher and pastor of London's six-thousand-seat Metropolitan Tabernacle, which his growing congregation opened in 1861. His writings, including thousands of sermons, are still popular with pastors and devotional readers.

Excellent value for the purchase price. Excellent riches for the soul. This is an outstanding resource of devotional reading on the Psalms from the perspective for godly men who lived hundreds of years ago and were not distracted by the many things we are today. I cannot say enough good things about these books. No hungry seeking soul will go away unsatisfied, for His sheep will be fed herein.

If I had to choose any commentary or book to read (outside of the Bible) I would pick this one. It is very well organized and the Puritans that he quotes are extremely helpful. May God help us to practice what is taught in this blessed commentary!

I am a Pastor of the Gospel, and have been preaching for the past 9 years. And I have thousands of books within my library, but these have certainly moved to the top of the list. Charles Spurgeon was certainly the Prince of Preachers. God bless,

Shame on the publisher. This is a seminal set. But the font size and print quality is abysmal. Spurgeon deserves better.

C.H.S. in this work certainly does both bring the Heavenlies down to me as well as take me up to the Heavenlies. This is an outstanding work for anyone who is truly serious in their pursuit of study in God's Word.

Fantastic, A lifetime of hard work went into these commentaries and it shows. The print is not too bad compared to some of the works I have read and I must add, to get a classic at such a low price a little grace towards the print is worth the rewards!
