My granddaughter was given this book for Christmas. I told her I would get the rest of the series for her when she has finished with this one. I didn't realize I had purchased the last one first. But it is fun sometimes to read the ending first.
I was so excited to receive this book in the mail as a review copy as I had the ones previous to it. It is one of those timeless series that will never grow outdated. In fact I highly recommend it to home school families looking to create a library filled with reading material that teaches solid Christian morals to round out a biblical world view education.
The simple and delightful stories are appropriate for the youngest reader (when read out loud) up to a the oldest (though the reader level is probably at highest 6th grade). I found it easy to make the lessons and moral applications understandable for my youngest who is 3 while still keeping my 10 year old engaged in the story as well. The story are great springboards for discussions about making good decisions and even into study of the scriptures.
I highly recommend this series of books to all.
Thank you B&B Communications for this review copy.
Arleta Richardson has done it again! In Treasures Grandma's Attic, Book 4, we see Mabel in her early teens. Though she has outgrown some of her absent-mindedness, she still found ways to get herself in trouble with the help of her best friend, Sarah Jane. They get a glimpse of the good times in the city, with unbelievable results. They dream of being more independent and pretty just like today. I so appreciated seeing a praying family and one that incorporated God's word into their lives.
This book is great for young girls to learn the principles of obedience, character and love for God. They show the simpler side of life which I think children of today would be privileged to learn from-learning to slow down and enjoying life without so much activity. They contain just plain, good old stories with Godly perspectives and practical lessons of yesteryear, which are actually still pertinent today. Love these books!

Arleta Richardson's books are treasures from the past.
For those who are familiar with her work, these were books, that late at night, during summer vacations and with friends, we would read stories out loud and giggle at each stories....Growing up, reading these books now, is a trip back to simpler times before internet, social media, cell phones, television....everything and giggling at how different times are now for the people in Richardson's book and the times now.
Little girls would love how, even then, they will see a little girl who wants to be an individual and pretty and the misadventures that are tempered by a Grandmother's love....This is a timeless book for parents, grandparents and kids to enjoy and bond over.
Filled as well with godly values and morals that transcend time, generations and culture, these "Grandma Attic's" stories, are a delight to have on one's book shelf and be it mom, looking for a fun read to transport her back to when she was a little girl, or to pass on to, this generation, a wholesome set of stories and adventures, Richardson's books are an absolute delight.
It's well worth getting the entire set and a delight to see the series out again, to capture a new generation's heart and to remind past generation's of stories that had them sneaking the book into bed, late at night, with a flashlight to read till the end.
Again I loved this book, so refreshing and sweet. Mable and Sarah Jane sure can get into a lot of trouble, but they seem to present a great lesson each time.
This time in our Country is back when a public school allowed prayer and bible study. What a great loss we as a Nation have been given.
Just a few of the adventures in this book include Mable and her perfect paper?? Also the Great Aunt that no one seems to like?? You will love the Farewell Party they want to give to their beloved teacher Miss Gibson, and take sewing lessons with Mable...or maybe not!
I recommend this great read...recommended for girls, but I've read it to boys and they get a good chuckle out of it!
I received a copy of this book from the Publisher, and was not required to post a positive review.
