The stakes are high . . . and the entire world is waiting for the verdict. The Navy has uncovered a group of radical Islamic clerics who have infiltrated the Navy Chaplain Corps, inciting sailors and marines to acts of terrorism. And Lieutenant Zack Brewer has been chosen to prosecute them for treason and murder. Only three years out of law school, Zack has already made a name for himself, winning the coveted Navy Commendation medal. Just coming off a high-profile win, this case will challenge the very core of Zacks skills and his Christian beliefsbeliefs that could cost him the case and his career. With Diane Colcernian, his staunchest rival, as assistant prosecutor, Zack takes on internationally acclaimed criminal defense lawyer Wells Levinson. And when Zack and Diane finally agree to put aside their animosity, it causes more problems than they realize.
Don Brown is the author of Thunder in the Morning Calm, The Malacca Conspiracy, The Navy Justice Series, and The Black Sea Affair, a submarine thriller that predicted the 2008 shooting war between Russia and Georgia. Don served five years in the U.S. Navy as an officer in the Judge Advocate General's (JAG) Corps, which gave him an exceptional vantage point into both the Navy and the inner workings "inside-the-beltway" as an action officer assigned to the Pentagon. He left active duty in 1992 to pursue private practice, but remained on inactive status through 1999, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He and his family live in North Carolina, where he pursues his passion for penning novels about the Navy. www.donbrownbooks.com Facebook: Don-Brown

I have tremendous respect for our military and believe this series portrayed them in a positive and realistic way. It is frightening to think an enemy whose only intent is our total destruction could infiltrate our military under the protection of today's out-of-control political correctness. Scary!

Just saw that Malaccan Conspiracy is due out later this year. No description yet. So I wonder if this is part of the series, new series, stand alone book? I am looking forward to it.
Stacey4 Stars Out Of 5May 14, 2008StaceyTreason is an incredibly fast-moving story. The chapters are short and easy to digest. At times it was difficult to follow the story early in the novel because the author jumped from one plotline to another. But I was pleasantly surprised when everything tied together and I was almost to the end! I agree with several of the reviews that say Don Brown writes understandably and in detail without being too technical. He is a responsible storyteller who writes for both a male and female audience. One thing that I think our less enthusiastic reviewers fail to see is that there is not open racial hostility expressed toward the Muslim characters in the book. These characters are not stared at in the church or on the military base or in any other setting in the story. In other words, they're just seen as people by the other characters until they behave like terrorists.
Judith Miranda4 Stars Out Of 5October 3, 2007Judith MirandaA very good book for a beginning writer. Good combination of action and court-room drama. Hope to see more of the series.
Karen Peale5 Stars Out Of 5July 8, 2007Karen PealeVery good book. I loved the closing arguments. They really made me think. Obviously well written. I was a fan of JAG, so I totally enjoyed this book. It is also not too complicated that a person who doesn't study law becomes confused. I will be purchasing more in the series.
