In 1940, Corrie ten Boom was living with her father and sister above their watch shop in Haarlem, Hollandand when their country was invaded, this devoutly Christian family provided sanctuary for persecuted Jews. Before long, the Nazis captured Corrie and her family. They were sent to a concentration camp, where Corrie lost both her sister and father. But remarkably, throughout this turbulent time, Corrie sustained the faith in God that helped her become one of the most beloved evangelists of her time.
Tramp for the Lord continues Corrie ten Boom's extraordinary journey of hope following the events recounted in her bestseller The Hiding Place. From her near-destitute days in postwar New York to heart-stopping adventures in Africa, Corrie's inspirational life story proves that miracles do happen.

Pamela Gessler5 Stars Out Of 5June 1, 2009Pamela GesslerCorrie Ten Boom is best known for "The Hiding Place", the story of her family as they hid Jews from the occupying regime in 1940's Holland. Miss Ten Boom has written many books, all of them very encouraging to those who want to know God better. This book, Tramp for the Lord, picks up after "The Hiding Place", when most of her loved ones were gone to be with the Lord. Having no reason to go home again, Corrie told God she would travel the world to bring the message she and Betsy had found in the concentration camp: "There is no pit so deep that Jesus is not deeper still." They took hope from Deuteronomy 33:27: "The eternal God is a dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms." Beginning at age 53, until a stroke silenced her voice at 86, Corrie Ten Boom always asked God where she should go next. The Holy Spirit spoke to her heart each time and showed her the way to go, often doing miracles in the process. This book will encourage you to trust God, and will help you to walk in the Holy Spirit. Corrie wasn't perfect, but she was willing to obey and listen to Jesus. You can hear Him too.
Pamela Gessler5 Stars Out Of 5May 11, 2009Pamela GesslerI read this book, and many others by Corrie Ten Boom, when I was in my twenties. Every one of them were page turners. This book is Corrie's story of sojourning the earth, following the Holy Spirit wherever He led her. She was told to take flights where there WERE no flights, but God would find them for her. She and her faithful companions Connie, and later Ellen, obeyed the voice of God as He both used them and shaped them in the process. If you desire to follow God wherever He leads, this book will encourage you. You may not be called to travel the world. You might stay home and raise a godly family. But Tante Corrie's experiences will remind you of the faithfulness of God if you're ready to hear His call.
