Product Description

Abuse, betrayal, disease, poverty, war, earthquakes, tsunamis . . . Why doesn't God stop such things from happening? And if an all-knowing, all-powerful Father allows such tragedies to afflict his children, then how can we trust him? Kendall wrestles with these fundamental questions and explains why we need to forgive God---and release him from blame. 256 pages, softcover from Charisma.

Publisher's Description

We live in a world filled with injustice and evil, and there is nobody on the planet who has not suffered. There are famines and wars, earthquakes and tsunamis, wicked governments, racial prejudices, and diseases. We all have been hurt, attacked, mistreated, deceived, or falsely accused. God allows this. He could stop it. After all, He is unlimited in power and knowledge. But God doesn’t stop it.

Why?

In the third title of his series on forgiveness and his most important book to date, R. T. Kendall tackles this question head-on, demonstrating why we need to release God from the blame we put on Him when we feel He has betrayed us.

Endoresments

Over thirty years as a pastor, I've found that bitterness toward God is often the primary barrier to accepting His salvation and trusting His guidance on a daily basis. I know of no one better suited than R. T. Kendall to address this deep hurt in so many lives. I'm so grateful for this book. - Rick Warren, Pastor, Saddleback Church

Editorial Reviews

Over thirty years as a pastor I’ve found that bitterness toward God is often the primary barrier to accepting His salvation and trusting His guidance on a daily basis. I know of no one better suited than R. T. Kendall to address this deep hurt in so many lives. I’m so grateful for this book. —Rick Warren, pastor, Saddleback Church and author, The Purpose-Driven Life

R. T. Kendall is a Christian leader for whom I have the greatest respect. A best-selling author, preacher, and theologian, he is never afraid to tackle the big issues, such as the reality of suffering and the struggles of life. I commend this book to you.
—Nicky Gumbel, vicar, Holy Trinity Brompton, London, England

Forgiving God for not intervening in times of suffering and trouble is taboo for many writers, but not for R. T. Kendall. What he writes so brilliantly not only helps us spiritually, but it also helps us psychologically. —Tony Campolo, PhD, Professor Emeritus of Sociology, Eastern University

This is quite simply the most important book R. T. Kendall has ever written. It could change your life, liberating you to become the person God has always dreamed of you being, free at last from the chains of unforgiveness toward God.  —Eric Delve, vicar, St. Luke’s Church, Maidstone, Kent, England
