Does God belong in the public arena of politics, business, law, and education? Or is religion a private and personal matter only? Pearcey challenges 21st-century believers to overcome our cultural double-mindedness and learn to "think Christianly" about secular topics. The included study guide offers practical hands-on steps for crafting an illuminated, faith-based worldview. 512 pages, softcover from Crossway.
Pearcey passionately argues that Christianity is truth about all reality, not just religious truth, and that to keep it privatized is stripping it of the power to challenge and redeem the whole of culture.
NANCY RANDOLPH PEARCEY is the Francis A. Schaeffer Scholar at the World Journalism Institute, where she teaches a worldview course based on the study guide edition of Total Truth. A former agnostic, Pearcey studied Christian worldview under Schaeffer at L'Abri Fellowship in Switzerland in the early 1970s. She earned an M. A. from Covenant Theological Seminary, followed by further graduate work in philosophy at the Institute for Christian Studies in Toronto. Pearcey has been publishing pioneering works on Christian worldview since 1977, and she has been heralded as "one of the few female intellectuals in evangelicalism" (The Evangelical Outpost). She has authored or contributed to articles in numerous journals and magazines, as well as Crossway's The Soul of Science and the bestselling, award-winning How Now Shall We Live?
Nancy Pearcey is scholar for worldview studies at Philadelphia Biblical Universitys Center for University Studies. Pearcey has authored or contributed to several works, including the ECPA Gold Medallion winner How Now Shall We Live? (with Charles Colson) and The Soul of Science (with Charles Thaxton).
How can you liberate Christianity from its cultural captivity? In this superbly crafted cultural analysis, noted author Nancy Pearcey passionately argues that Christianity is truth about all reality, not just religious truth, and that to keep it privatized is stripping it of the power to challenge and redeem the whole of culture.
