Tell us a little about yourself. I am the wife of an awesome preacher, singer and saxophone player; the mother of 6 daughters and 2 sons, the grandmother of 20 grandchildren, and the great-grandmother of 2 great grandchildren. I lead the church choir, sing duets with my husband (we've recorded several albums, tapes and CDs) play the organ and piano, teach the Adult Sunday School class, write Home Bible study courses and Bible seminars, teach a midweek teen class, write and direct skits and plays, and write books, poetry, and tracts. We love to remodel and redecorate decrepit houses. Most of all, I love to get days away, here and there, now and then, with my awesome hubby, who I have been happily married to for 44 years!
What was your motivation behind this project? Our ministry has included work in missions, prisons, state parks, evangelistic work and churches. Our greatest desire is to see people not only saved, but brought to a place of labor in our Lord's vast harvest field. I pray Torchbearers will inspire one more light in our sin-darkened world.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? The knowledge that God can make every single child of God a Torchbearer in His race: children, teens, men, women, invalids, prisoners, the uneducated, the educated, the wicked, the rich, the poor - everyone and anyone who will simply submit their lives to Christ can be an awesome Torchbearer!
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I love autobiographies of the great revivalists and missionaries. I love to read the awesome things that God can do with ordinary people - people who feel unworthy, inferior, fearful, or incapable of being used by God. It makes me know that God can even use me!
