Maybe youre burning the candle at both ends in relation to a job, your
marriage, housework, children, finances, an illness, your parents, or some
other relationship. Maybe its some of that, all of that, or none of the above,
and youre just inexplicably on-the-go all the time, putting out fires and
missing out on the joy of life.
Whatever the case, only God can bring true, unfailing resolve and stability
to the messes and stresses that a woman endures.
In Too Blessed for This Mess, Cindi Wood, everyones favorite "frazzled
female," invites women to join her for a Bible-based study that will lift them
"out of the pit, out of the mud and mire" (Psalm 40) and into a calming,
empowering relationship with God. Mixed with humor and depth, Woods
concerns are clear in chapter titles like "Frazzle-Friendly," "Control Freaks,"
"Im Getting Old!," and "Committing to the Lord."
Letter From Author
Would you agree with me that LIVING can sometimes take the life out of you?
Several years ago the truth I discovered in Psalm 91:1 transformed my thinking and changed my life.
"He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall remain stable and fixed under the shadow of the Almighty."
"Stable and fixed" was certainly the cry of my heart! And it wasn't just for me. Being more peaceful on the inside would help me be a better wife and mother. And being cool, calm, and collected would even help me accomplish more for the Lord!
According to Psalm 91:1, that pathway to peace unmistakably begins in the Secret Place! Dwelling in the secret place of God's love will help you discover the inner joy and fulfillment that can only be found in a vibrant and growing intimacy with Jesus Christ.
God designed you to live a life - not free from stress - but victorious in the midst of it. It is my prayer that Too Blessed For This Mess will help you begin your journey of personal peace and joy as you tackle the daily hassles of living.
Stable and fixed,

It may be great to discuss in a group setting. Reading it alone, however, was disappointing, as it didn't delve deeply into any one topic. The chapters are short to avoid creating more stress, but I found it too "light". It would be appropriate for a new believer or young person. Very few personal stories are shared to illustrate each point, so the text comes across as 'telling' rather than 'sharing'.
Kim Smith5 Stars Out Of 5January 25, 2008Kim SmithI have only read the first few chapters of the book, but would highly recommend the book if you are a "frazzled female". It directs your focus just where it needs to be on our personal, individual relationship with our Creator, Sustainer and Savior for daily living.
