Sometimes you can't see what matters most until it's gone.
Brenden McCarthy feels like he's lost everything. His fiancee. His independence. And his passion for life. All due to one tragic misstep while mountain climbing that cost him his sight.
But he's about to gain the last thing he ever expected.
A big-hearted black Labrador named Nelson who's given one last shot at being a Seeing Eye dog.
Both are beyond hope and resigned to live alone. And both are about to experience a bond of friendship that develops when they least expect it.
Together is a heartwarming story for anyone who's ever lost sight of what matters most in life . . . but has hope that there's more.
Royce Ann Henderson5 Stars Out Of 5July 23, 2010Royce Ann HendersonOutstanding. A wonderful story of true, pure love. It touched my life in so many ways. It brought so many emotions to the surface. I cried at times and then laughed at other times. I have always loved dogs in a very special way. They give unconditional love, and they are always wanting to please. I enjoyed this book immensely and would recommend it to all.
Susan5 Stars Out Of 5August 11, 2009SusanI really enjoyed this book. Great story - both entertaining as well as educating....but...not real sure why it qualifiers as a "Christian" item. The mere mention of "God" does not a "Christian-Book" make. However aside from drinking episodes and implied non-marital sex between two of the main characters, followed by a "one-nighter that didn't mean anything", it was an interesting treatise on the subject of service dogs and the bond forged between them and their people. Can't really call it a Christian-Fictional work though. Seems a bit more like a tamer secular book.
