Haunted by the myth of Cupid and Psyche throughout his life, C.S. Lewis wrote this, his last, extraordinary novel, to retell their story through the gaze of Psyche’s sister, Orual. Disfigured and embittered, Orual loves her younger sister to a fault and suffers deeply when she is sent away to Cupid, the God of the Mountain. Psyche is forbidden to look upon the god’s face, but is persuaded by her sister to do so; she is banished for her betrayal. Orual is left alone to grow in power but never in love, to wonder at the silence of the gods. Only at the end of her life, in visions of her lost beloved sister, will she hear an answer.
"Till We Have Faces succeeds in presenting with imaginative directness what its author has described elsewhere as ‘the divine, magical, terrifying and ecstatic reality in which we all live’ . . . [It] deepens for adults that sense of wonder and strange truth which delights children in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Prince Caspian, and other legends of Narnia." —New York Times
"The most significant and triumphant work that Lewis has . . . produced." —New York Herald Tribune

Lewis excelled in writing fantasy. This tale based loosely on an ancient myth is definitely worth reading again and again.

This book is a classic. Period, exclamation mark! I was doing some research on C.S. Lewis and when I found out this was his personal favorite, I was kind of, well...shocked. Why, I wondered, have I not heard of it? I mean, in my little world I am like the biggest C.S. Lewis fan EVER and yet...I didn't know about his personal favorite?!
Long and short of it all, I had to buy it. After reading it, I had a new question. Why isn't this book as well known as the Chronicles of Narnia or The Screwtape Letters?!
This book was AMAZING! It completely changed me. I feel like a new person after reading it. A wiser person. I see life and the world in a complete different perspective. Like, I cannot even BEGIN to describe what this book has done to me!
This is a book you NEED to read and one I can't wait to pick up again! Buy it! It will change you. And for the good!

Books were in excellent shape. Delivery was earlier than expected. Was able to forward one of the books to a teacher friend who will use it as an option for students to read. Will keep the other. Thanks for the great service!

"Till We Have Faces" is a timeless tale intertwined with countless morals and values that cannot possibly be discovered after being read only once. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is considering reading it. It's the kind of book everyone should find the time to read. But I also recommend that it be read more than once, for there is much more to this book than meets the eye. Study it and I am sure you will learn more from it than you imagined. It is not a book to simply be left on the shelf.
