BJ5 Stars Out Of 5Through the Bible, 5-Volume SetJanuary 9, 2015BJQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I have listened to the broadcasts of the late J. Vernon McGee over the years and had started to collect the individual commentaries; however, that was becoming an expensive undertaking. I stopped at 7 or 8. When I saw this offer I had to take advantage of it. This is an excellent resource to add to my personal Bible study collection.

Vernon McGee and his works, among a plethora of other writer's resources. In my decision to delve deeper into the Bible by way of commentary resource(s), I chose to lay out the equivalent commentary of the particular book of the Bible from the various authors I chose (McGee, MacArthur, Boice, Henry, Wiersbe, Phillips, among more!) and essentially narrowed my preferences down to two authors: J. Vernon McGee and Warren W. Wiersbe, who were the easiest to understand but still get a rich commentary.
Specifically, this product came as described in a 5-volume set (I also ordered the Index to complete the collection). I'm very satisfied and am sure this will come in handy as an invaluable resource in my library.
Q: Do these books come with dust jackets? Do they have a plastic cover on them or do they come literally as they are shown in the picture? Thanks.
These come as pictured, without the dust jackets.
Q: Does this commentary approach Genesis from a young earth creation perspective?
McGee takes an old universe but young earth approach to Genesis.
Q: Is this set identical to the individual books or is it highlights from the individual books?
All 5 individual books are included in this set.
Q: What is the demomination of the book?
This commentary is not specific to any denomination. J. Vernon McGee himself was ordained by the Presbyterian Church (USA). Based on his education, his theological background is a mixture of calvinistic and dispensational doctrines.
