I have been on the Bible bus with Dr. Magee for many years. This particular set was purchased one book at a time YEARS ago..unsure when. Since then, I have purchased 3 other sets: one for our church library, and 2 for individuals. Am now ordering another set for my daughter and husband. He truly "puts the cookies on the bottom shelf" for all of us.

I ordered two different commentaries and Dr. McGee's is by far the best, easiest to read and understand. There is a lot of extra information in his books that it makes you feel like you are in the story. Reading this set of commentaries makes each verse and chapter of the bible come to life. Best investment that I have ever made.

I first got these commentaries in the mid-80's. I am now on my 2nd set. It is very,very helpful to have the index also. I have many good commentaries & bible books but Mcgee's are the best. God richly blessed his plain bible teaching as evidenced once you pick these books up! You'll not find a better set of commentaries for the beginner or veteran. I have personally bought ~50 sets over the years for fellow Christians. You will not be disappointed , if your true desire is to learn the Word of God as it is rightly divided!

Simply put, Dr. McGee speaks in the language of the people. He places it on the lower shelves, as he used to say on the radio. It is clear, no wasted words, easy reading and study, and is great for night time reading: it does not require deep thought. This is a wonderful way to "Read Through the Bible" in an organized and studious manner.

I have many commentaries, but this is my best purchase yet! The verse by verse exposition is not dry and starchy, but full of profound, exciting, ordinary language ("where the rubber meets the road") that is both captivating and humorous. Trust me, for the lay person, Sunday school teacher or pastor who desires a solid study aid that will really and I mean really help you develop and grow, get Dr. McGee's set. You will not be disappointed. Pastors would do well to study his style and expository delivery of the scripture.
