Emily Sundberg has her life all laid out. She has a respectable job as a teacher and an idea of whom she should marry. But does God have a better plan?

Emily Sundberg considers herself a proper young lady of the twentieth century. But a decade ago she behaved more like a tomboy. So when the neighbor's grandson came to visit one summer when she was thirteen, they became fast friends. Emily even got her first kiss—quite by accident.

Unfortunately Jake Edgerton told all the boys something else. Rumors circulated, and Emily caved from embarrassment and guilt. Meanwhile Jake returned home to Fallon, Montana and she never saw or heard from him again.

Over the years Emily has worked hard to prove to her peers and the people of Manitowoc, Wisconsin that, despite past mistakes, she is an upstanding young woman, one worthy of being a schoolteacher—and possibly Andy Anderson's wife. But even with the passing of time, Emily has never forgotten Jake and how he nearly ruined her life_

And now he's a US Deputy Marshal and he's back in town!

    My Review:

Lilly was sassy as all get out, and full of frills and lace. Underneath it all, she really is quite a tomboy - reformed into a lady now that she's all grown up. Her first kiss has shown up unexpectedly back into town; as a US Deputy Marshall and ready as ever to butt heads with his childhood playmate. I really enjoyed her antics to get Andy Anderson's attention, and I found it absolutely hilarious how he completely ignores her like she didn't even exist.

Overall, this story was about forgiveness, love, restoration and second chances. There were many twists and turns that kept the story fresh and exciting. I was particularly excited about the turn of the century setting, and I was effortlessly drawn to the story like a moth to flame. It was a wonderful novel, and I recommend it to anyone who loves historical fiction with a little extra romance on the side.

Emily Sundberg likes to be in control of her life. It's taken many years to shed the tomboy stigma of her past and instead be known as a proper young lady and schoolteacher.

Jake Edgerton returns to Manitowoc, Wisconsin to bury his grandfather. What he hadn't counted on was meeting his childhood playmate.

Threads of Love is a delightful turn of the century tale that will sweep you away on a current of excitement as Emily and Jake butt heads and rekindle an old friendship.

It isn't often that a young lady walking down the sidewalk in Manitowoc, Wisconsin is literally knocked off her feet, but that's just what happens to Emily Sundberg, when two men come tumbling out a glass window right in front of her. Turns out one of the men is Deputy Marshal John Alexander Kirk Edgerton, the young man who gave Emily her first kiss ten years ago when she was thirteen. The kiss cost her dearly though because she felt like Jake had told everyone about it which hurt her reputation, but it also hurt that he never stayed in contact with her. She was able to salvage her reputation and become a schoolteacher, and even has a serious suitor. She decides while Jake is in town to attend his grandfather's funeral she will just ignore him, but perhaps God has other ideas in store for this couple!

I found myself effortlessly drawn into this story, from the beginning pages when Emily is literally bowled over by Jake, I knew I was in for an interesting read. It was easy to see that the sparks still existed between this couple, making for a fun to read relationship between the pair. I also found myself drawn into the small town setting, and several of the secondary characters really kept the plot moving. Her co-worker and friend Iris Hopper was a real card, and provided a few laughs. The twist at the end involving Iris was one that I didn't see coming. While "Threads of Love" is the third book in the Fabric of Time series, it can be read as a stand alone work, I read the first book, but somehow missed the second one but because the author provided enough background information I was able to jump right in to this story, although I do plan on going back to read the second book because I love the characters and historical setting of this series. Fans of historical fiction where the author weaves together romance, along with a few spiritual messages will enjoy this story. A good, clean read that held my attention until the final page!

Review of Threads of Love (Fabric of Time Series) by Andrea Boeshaar

I knew from the opening scene I would love this book: Our handsome hero crashes through a saloon window knocking down our not-so-delicate heroine. U.S. deputy marshal Jake Edgerton has already caused Emily Sundberg emotional bruises, so she's not happy to be involved in his capture of a wanted man, especially with half the town watching. And what if the man she's decided to marry, though he needs convincing, saw?

This was a very enjoyable read with excellent main characters in independent, keep-up-with-the-boys Emily and tough, admirable Jake. Emily's friend Iris Hopper was a hoot, and even though I haven't yet read the other Fabric of TIme books, I enjoyed learning about Emily's family. I also found the setting, ranging from Manitowoc, Wisconsin to Montana interesting.

I found the end a little anticlimactic, though satisfactory. But I'm sure the ending will seem perfectly fitting for those who find Emily's family old friends.

Andrea Boeshaar weaves threads of forgiveness and second chances into the story making it an encouraging as well as entertaining read. This is the third in the series, and I hope to read the other two (not necessary to enjoy this book though).

Note: I received Threads of Love from the publisher for review purposes, but my opinions concerning the book are honest.
