Cathy5 Stars Out Of 5Great Little Book!September 29, 2014CathyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5My sister gave me a copy of this and I LOVE it! I needed something "short and sweet" to remind me that GOD IS STILL HERE!! It's a very quick read and, no, it's not "counseling" or an in depth study. Just compact information to pick you up when you feel you've slipped into the pit! As always, Max is the BEST!!!

That's what this book is; fuel. In this book we are reminded that several individuals throughout biblical history had major challenges; Daniel, Jonah and not to mention Paul. Yet, God was always there. As humans we don't expect to suffer and "an easy fix" is what we would be most comfortable with. God just wants us to trust him, and when we do, " we will get through it" The author even reminds us that it won't be painless. Even Christ suffered a cruel death on the cross, and the victory - he arose! I plan to purchase several copies for some special people in my life.
happy2beHisARAge: 55-65Gender: female1 Stars Out Of 5Wish I had passed on thisOctober 18, 2013happy2beHisARAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 2Meets Expectations: 1I have a friend who is going through some very difficult times at the moment so I bought this with her in mind. I was so disappointed I almost threw the book away. However, since my sister goes to church with Max, I will give it to her. Maybe she can find a use for it.
There was no depth to this at all for me. It was almost like patting someone on the back and saying, "Well, things well be better tomorrow!" without offering any help for today - rather like what Jesus said in the Bible about the person being hungry and all you do is say, "Have a good day!" How is that supposed to help? This book is NOT helpful in my opinion! I have already written two poems for this woman that have helped much more than this book would help.
My suggestion would be to look elsewhere for something to help in trying times because this is not it - and I feel certain Max can do better than this. It may just be that condensing the larger book down to this smaller version was akin to "losing something in the translation": it lost too much in the shortening. Maybe you want the full version. You definitely do not want this mini version.
