Publisher's Description

"Our response to moral questions is not determined by politics, economics, personal preference, popular opinion, or human reasoning. It is, instead, grounded in what God has told us is true about ourselves and our world....God's Word offers sanity, clarity, and hope."

--John MacArthur

Trusted Voices Offer Biblical Responses
to Today's Hot Issues

One of the greatest challenges facing Christians today is the powerful influence of secular thinking. From all directions we're fed a constant barrage of persuasive--yet unbiblical--worldviews. This makes it difficult to know where to stand on today's most talked-about issues.

The leadership team at Grace Community Church, along with their pastor, John MacArthur, provide much-needed discernment and clarity in the midst of rampant confusion. Using the Bible as the foundation, you'll learn how to develop a Christian perspective on key issues--including...

  • political activism
  • environmentalism
  • the cult of celebrity
  • entertainment and escapism
  • homosexual marriage
  • abortion, birth control, and surrogacy
  • euthanasia and suicide
  • disasters and epidemics
  • immigration
  • God and the problem of evil

Also included is a topical reference guide of Bible verses that address key concerns--a guide that will arm you with right thinking and biblical answers to challenging questions.

Editorial Reviews

"For anyone who believes, or even suspects, that Judeo Christian culture along with Biblical vision provides a road map to reality, John MacArthur is a hero and his latest work, Right Thinking in a World Gone Wrong, is a vital resource. Courage is contagious and spiritual truth is uplifting; this book will impart heaps of both to every Christian seeker."
--Rabbi Daniel Lapin, president, American Alliance of Jews and Christians

"In a world of fakes, charlatans, and imposters, John MacArthur stands, almost alone, as a clear voice for biblical truth and integrity. This book blows away the politically correct fog surrounding the top issues of our day, and offers clear and concise answers to very important questions about how we should think, vote, and live."
--Kirk Cameron, well-known television and film actor, speaker, and author

"Right Thinking in a World Gone Wrong lays out underlying truths related to ethical issues today. All Christians desiring to know what God requires should read this book."
--Lois Feinberg-Gonzenbach

"As is the case with all of Dr. MacArthur's books, it will no doubt be an invaluable resource, and especially at this juncture in our country's ‘culture wars,' when the distinctions between right and wrong are becoming increasingly blurred."
--Joseph A. Aleppo, PhD, Chairman and Executive Director, The Aurora Foundation

"I thank my good friend John MacArthur for helping us grasp a solid biblical worldview on the cultural issues which impact our daily lives.  John gives us the tools and scriptural framework for us to apply a truly Christian perspective on issues which can be so confusing and complicated.  Thank you, John, for helping us see and understand our contemporary world from God's point of view!"
--Joni Eareckson Tada, Joni and Friends International Disability Center

"I recommend this book to anyone who preaches and teaches God's Word in today's world, as a guide to scriptural truth in dealing with many of today's controversial issues."
--Shirley F. Carpenter, EdD, Chairperson, Department of Education, The Master's College

"I have read the book and found it very helpful in identifying so many of the issues that are crucial to the thinking of God's people in this morally confused generation."

I was disappointed that this entire book was not written by MacArthur. I didn't read the fine print under his name on the cover. The chapter on homosexuality is irrelevant. The author doesn't allude to any data he may have used for his comments. It seems to be based on his opinion alone; seemingly without the input of any gay people whatsoever.

This is a good book for those looking for some quick answers. Not a great deal of depth, but excellent generally. I would disagree, however, with MacArthur's strong attitudes toward homosexuals. He says that their feelings are a sin. I would agree that acting out is a sin, and feelings need to be dealt with. But just as a person lusts for anything, is that a sin in itself? We have to fight against these, but thoughts come unbidden. Ex. Jesus in the wilderness.
