Publisher's Description

Why?

Why do bad things happen if God is so good? The answer is within these pages.

Even When Bad Things Happen, God Is Good addresses the age-old philosophical question: Why is there tribulation in the world if God is good?

Along with other classics addressing this perplexing question such as The Problem of Pain by C.S. Lewis and The Wounded Healer by Henri Nouwen, Dr. Leary E. Bonnett sensitively explores this very common question with the skill and spiritual experience of a person deeply committed to helping you learn to trust God in every circumstance.

Reshaping the way you think, act, and react to problems impacting your life empowers you to be in control—under God’s grace and mercy. Everyone experiences adversity at some time along life’s journey, but when you have concrete steps showing you how to partner with God, you can unshackle yourself from the throes of troubles.

You will be inspired to live a more meaningful life, in thought and deed, and make God a personal reality in your life—starting today!

Editorial Reviews

Even When Bad Things happen God is still Good is theologically realistic, biblically grounded, Holy Spirit Centered, full of psychological wisdom, and a very positive resource for addressing the lives of people facing tribulation. It is written, and speaks to the needs of the 21st century church.
-Dr. Edward P. Wimberley, Professor of Pastoral care of Interdenominational Theological Center Atlanta, Georgia

Rev. Leary E. Bonnett has given us another gift.  He has dared to accept the divine invitation to envision "what else" instead of surrendering to the deadening status quo of "what is."
-Dale T. Irvin, President and Professor of World Christianity,  New York Theological Seminary

This book is a resource for church men and women who are ministering with members of congregations who are facing catastrophe events in their lives. Dr. Bonnett's book offers an opportunity for the church to have dialogue around the biblical question of theordicy.
-Eleanor Moody-Shepherd, New York Theological Seminary

"Even When Bad Things Happen, God is Good - Trusting God When it Hurts the Most" is a combination; theological treatise, an inspiration devotional guide, a motivational case study, and a spiritual discipline handbook. Readers can expect to receive insights from Leary Bonnett's teaching that will embolden and stretch them in their faith journey.

Bonnett provides thought provoking, step by step. Rich and meaningful lessons and guidance on building character traits of : humility, hope, faith, patience, and love while developing spiritual discipline, and putting faith into action using examples, and principles rooted in God's Word. These lessons are authenticated by his personal life and ministry.

I was challenged by Bonnett's , Biblical authenticity, articulate communication style, his intellect, and credibility. I appreciated his careful detail in research and formatting , his descriptive word pictures, relevant examples and illustrations, and the continuity of his presentation

The thought reflection questions presented at the end of each chapter are designed to be used for personal mediation, spiritual mentoring, or as a small group discussion study guide.

"Even When Bad Things Happen, God is Good" is an excellent resource for Pastors, Counselors, and Laymen ministering to individuals and families who are facing crisis and difficult times.

A complimentary copy of this book was provided for review purposes. The opinions expressed are my own.
