Because of the prominence of prophecy in Scripture, many excellent books have appeared dealing with prophetic subjects. Until recently, however, the treatment of prophecy has been either apologetic or expository, and prophetic themes have been developed individually apart from their relation to the whole revealed prophetic program. Much of our knowledge has been only fragmentary and unrelated. Dr. Dwight Pentecosts monumental text, Things to Come, has changed all that. In this massive, highly successful book, Dr. Pentecost has synthesized the whole field of prophecy into a unified biblical doctrine, a systematic and complete biblical eschatology. With nearly a quarter of a million copies sold, Things to Come has earned its place in the library of the pastor, the scholar, and the seminarian or Bible institute student. In addition, it offers a comprehensive and accessible study for anyone interested in the important subject of biblical prophecy.
J. Dwight Pentecost was distinguished professor emeritus of Bible exposition of Dallas Theological Seminary. He is the author of numerous books including Prophecy for Today, Things to Come, and Things Which Become Sound Doctrine.

Beverly Peterson5 Stars Out Of 5October 1, 2009Beverly PetersonAn excellent and exhaustive dissertation regarding things that are yet to come. For anyone new to the study of eschatology I recommended this book. Dr. J. Dwight Pentecost has a well-planned, and explained, study of future events. It is a book to not only read and study but to keep as a reference book.
Judy Koon5 Stars Out Of 5August 3, 2009Judy KoonExtremely helpful!!! Dr. Pentecost gives the various views and explains why each view is or is not in line with God's Holy Word. He does so without being critical of the person. I appreciate the way Dr. Pentecost presents such "deep" teachings using words that even I can understand. I use this book repeatedly as a resource. Powerful!
Sukkumar George5 Stars Out Of 5July 26, 2009Sukkumar GeorgeThis book is one of the best on Biblical Eschatology available to us. Many bible teachers say let the Bible interpret the Bible this is easier said than done!. The beloved Dr. Pentecost is one among the few who preach and practice this principle of Bible interpretation. In this book, he has amalgamated the whole field of prophecy, blending them into one clear integrated picture of scripture - BRILLIANT! The study & understanding of Biblical Eschatology, is utterly important for our edification (particularly during our times). This is why the reader of the book of Revelation is promised to be blessed in Rev 1:3. Things to Come is one of the most significant resource available to learn and understand Eschatology as expressed in the scriptures. The book shines with light! It is edifying!
John Hubbartt5 Stars Out Of 5January 9, 2009John HubbarttThis is a very thorough presentation of the study of eschatology. Dr. Pentecost relies a lot on others for his text, which is good. He expresses in his text all of the points of view. It is a very complete explanation of the study of prophecy as forthtelling. I woukld recommend the book to anyone.
