My grandchildren are ages 5 and 8 (siblings). When they spend the night with Granny, we read stories from this book. I had a hard cover copy that I began reading to them when they were at my home. They asked for a copy that they could each have to read from at their home, so I bought this paperback version for each of them. It thrills my heart to see them so excited to hear about God and His people. I highly recommend this book for younger children. October 12, 2009

This is a great Bible for a beginning reader. The print is large and easy to read, and the words are simple yet not too dumbed down for the family to enjoy together. My five-year-old nephew thinks it's great! June 13, 2009

I presented this bible to my 5 year old dear son yesterday as his very own special bible to read whenever he wants to. He took it with pride and was so excited to be able to read it on his own. He started reading it right away and carried it around with him today. This evening he asked to read it in bed before he went to sleep...how can you say "no" to your child reading the bible. I did ask him to pray and ask God to show him something he can learn from the stories. I heard his sincere prayer and off he was reading... Fifteen minutes later I asked him if he had learned anything and he nodded his head yes. "I learned I need to obey God."The only thing I wish I would have done was buy the hard cover. For a few dollars more it would be well worth it. January 21, 2008
