This book gives good, sound advice for me to raise my children. I really liked that a husband and wife, along with their grown and married daughter came together to write this book! I didn't figure that out until I was close to the end, so I plan to reread it again taking into consideration who wrote each chapter. I didn't agree with allowing our children to date at such an early age (13), because I feel if my children aren't ready to marry, they shouldn't be dating, but my youngest is 12, and I'm about to find out how difficult this teen thing can be (but then again, who says it has to be so difficult). I really appreciated the authors openness and genuiness throughout the book, and the examples of their personal experiences. Chapters 9 & 11 on Sibling Relationships and The 'Difficult' Child were a special blessing to me! I'm better off for reading this book, and I highly recommend it to parents raising teens. I would like to mention the candidness of chapter 12. The author exposses his feelings on childhood disorders. I have to say I have thought some of the same things, but never said them out loud for fear of what others might say. It's not exactly politically correct, but I do agree with most of it. A word of caution if you're new to the Christian scene...don't take it personal. One last note, every book I've read on parenting reverts our attention back on us as parents and having a healthy relationship with our spouse and our Lord. This book is no exception because it's that important!
