Trouble arrives when her sisters receive a huge inheritance from the father they never knew. Afraid that Wise will take revenge on Marie and Tracey, Amanda moves back to town to keep an eye on them -- and let them know shes still alive, for now.
Police Chief Luke Granger met Amanda three years ago, and he hasnt forgotten her. One of his homicide detectives is dating Tracey; another is just getting to know Marie. Luke, Marsh, and Connor will do everything in their power to keep the three Griffin women safe. But it may not be enough.
Dee Henderson departs from her usual pattern by focusing on three couples, making her protagonists older, and having the series more integrated; in fact, many of the story threads arent finished in this book. But the book has her signature blend of mystery and suspense. The characters are fully drawn, but Hendersons point-of-view choices prevent readers from connecting as deeply as those in her previous novels. Amanda and Tracey are never the viewpoint characters, and I think the book suffers because of it, especially with Amanda. Hopefully future books will allow readers to get to know her better. In all, The Witness is an excellent choice for romantic suspense fans. -- Katie Hart, Christian Book Previews.com

Jessica AllenAge: 18-24Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 52.5 starsNovember 12, 2013Jessica AllenAge: 18-24Gender: femalePlot: I really enjoyed the plot. From page one, you are thrown into conflict and it doesn't end until the last chapter. There are so many twists and turns that when something begins to seem predictable, the story goes in another direction.
Characters: It was hard to identify with the characters in this book. I understand that some of the characters needed to have their identities more shaded, but I felt that all of them were portrayed in this way. I didn't feel that there was enough personal qualities to really understand them. The characters were seen at work and in their relationships, but they were rarely alone and described personally.
Themes: The main theme in this story is trust. The characters have to learn to trust each other through everything that is happening around them. There is also a focus on trusting in God in all of life's circumstances, good or bad. The author does an excellent job of allowing the characters to grow in trust from the very begging.
Emotion: There was not a lot of emotional entanglement with this book. I read it and moved on. There wasn't a lot left to contemplate. There were times in the book when I was shocked or surprised, but overall, it was pretty dry.
Overall: There were many times, while reading this book, that I had to re-read parts because they didn't seem to make sense. Many times, even after going back, those parts still didn't make a lot of sense. I feel as if this book as a whole needs some editing.

Phyllis Griffin1 Stars Out Of 5Not Very GoodAugust 9, 2012Phyllis GriffinQuality: 1Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1For the first 3/4 of the book, it was really interesting. The rest of it seemed as if the writer was in a hurry to get through, and some of it made no sense. A big disappointment.
Andrew WapakalaNairobi, KenyaAge: 25-34Gender: male4 Stars Out Of 5Great Suspense storyAugust 9, 2012Andrew WapakalaNairobi, KenyaAge: 25-34Gender: maleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3The suspense in this book is great and keeps you reading to find out what is happening next.
However, towards the end, the book becomes a bit flat. The message about God and His work isn't that well woven into the story and comes out more towards the end of the book. No one's faith comes out too clearly.
Otherwise, it is a great read.
