Tell us a little about yourself. I'm so thrilled to have my first novel published! I have a wonderful family. My husband is a scientist and awesome gospel saxophonist, and we have been blessed with three great boys.
What was your motivation behind this project? My motivation for the story was very heartfelt. During a period of devastating losses, I wondered why a loving God would allow His people to suffer and even die. I searched the scriptures and prayed hard. As I found peace, I wondered if other believers had the same questions. As a result, I began to come up with the characters and storyline for The Taste of Good Fruit.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope that they will find the story entertaining, but more importantly, I hope that they will recognize that God often allows His people to experience trials for His glory--even when we don't understand.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Well, I found that I have been deeply impacted by developing the characters and their responses. I think the characters are appealing and so real to people because even though the story is fictional, the character's responses to heartache, pain, and loss are very much like my own.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? Aside from Jesus (smile), my source of inspiration comes from my family, close friends, and certainly from other Christian fiction writers. My publisher, Denise Stinson, has also been inspirational.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Just trust the Lord through the trial or obstacle. It may be a press, but when we go through the trial the "right" way, we will find ourselves so much better on the other side of it! During and after the refining process, we can actually bring Him glory, which is why we are here. You can make it!
