On their third album release, The Swift lend their signature piano driven sound to a host of worshipful ballads and songs of praise, creating an intimate collection of inspiring and encouraging songs. Singing Back to You includes "Rain Down," "Nothing But the Blood," "Salvation is Here," and more.
As you may know, the swift is not a new band. In fact, these guys are loved all over the world. But this is a fresh new season for vocalist/bassist Mike Simons, vocalist/pianist Britt Edwards, guitarist Matt Wilder and drummer Guy Lemon. The band signed a new record deal with Rocketown and released an intentional worship recording entitled, Singing Back to You, last month. The Swift is back with a fresh sense of purpose, direction and creativity. This is very good news indeed. See the-swift.com and myspace.com/theswift

Paul: The Swift has been around for at least a decade, yet something feels really fresh and new with the band. Am I right?
britt: Yes. For starters, weve lost a band member and gained two since our last record, which came out almost two years ago. Weve also been going through a lot of changes in regards to our ministry. We keep coming back to the fact that worship really is our primary calling as a band and thats OK. Weve always been hesitant to say yes, were worship leaders because it seems that everybodys saying that nowadays. But the Lord just keeps confirming that to us at every turn, and were going for it with everything weve got. Its given us a new approach to our music.
Paul: Tell us about the new record.
britt: Singing Back to You is our first record where weve solely focused on worship songs. We chose some of our favorite songs and wrote four of our own. Were pretty excited to finally have a record that reflects some of the music we do live in a worship setting and to offer our fans music that they connect so well with and have waited so patiently for.
Paul: What are the differences between Singing Back to You and your
previous two records?
mike: We were much more intentional about choosing the songs on this record. This being more of a corporate worship effort, we tried to pick songs that people would really connect with. The last records were a little more care-free and sloppy, where this record feels much more polished and mature.
britt: We had a completely different team working on this record with us. Weve been incorporating lots of new elements into our sound. Its a bit more electronic than our first two records. I guess you could say weve tried to modernize!
