I have a fourth and third grader that I homeschool. This is a great program that gets them practicing writing in a very organized way. I agree kids should not learn to write by just doing creative writing, but they DO need to practice writing. This program teaches them how to compose using non-fiction material in a methodical pattern that makes sense. It is easy to implement with BOTH of my children, and I like that as well.

Excellent product!
Exactly what we were looking for in a writing curriculum. I'm able to customize this from two to five days a week.

Finally, a comprehensive but gentle system!
What a relief to find a writing program that gets my child writing without the grief. Mr. Pudewa is very intelligent and gentle, and he uses his skills for the benefit of all who take his program.
I would advise other users of the program to take it step by step. In other words, the proper way is to watch a teeny slice of the video, and then spend several days applying it, and doing the extra exercises, then play a bit more of the video, etc.

I bought this program to try the IEW idea. He said that this program could stand alone so you don't have to buy the bigger package to try it out. I have 3 boys and they are already very intimidated by writing. This is so easy that they are having a hard time keeping it simple. I love the teaching my kids the structure of writing before asking them to work creatively. I have every confidence that they will grow up able to write what ever and when ever necessary.
