Lexie Baltimore is in the supernatural battle of her life. In obedience to God's calling, Lexie uses her art and dreams to help others. But will she have enough courage to help herself when she becomes torn between her atheist husband and a godly man? A widower and a father, Pastor Nate Winslow is drowning in darkness. Will he resist his treacherous assignment to win Lexie's heart or give in to the attraction between them? As events unfold, Lexie becomes entangled in a twisted plot. Will she overcome the evil assailing her or yield to the dark side?
This book is a powerful tale of good and evil, trust, and deception. It will keep readers on edge until the end.
Spiritual warfare always grabs my attention, and in The Soul Saver Dineen A. Miller, definitely has a hit. The twists of the plot create a depth that keeps the reader looking for the next turn. Great, exciting story.
This story is not only well written and relatable, but it offers a great example of the power of prayer and demonstrates the spiritual warfare going on in our world. The characters are well developed and show spiritual growth throughout the book. The plot had many twists, but the story flows smoothly.
This book was an incredible journey. To say I enjoyed it would be a gross understatement. If you are married to a nonbeliever, are an artist or have ever just felt that you were struggling with something God wanted you to do, you’ll enjoy this book.

Tell us a little about yourself. Dineen Miller readily admits that one of the greatest lessons shes learning about life is that theres purpose in our trials. Its all about trusting God and putting our hope in Him. Her favorite stories are of the miracles God has wrought in the lives of her family.
Through this lens she also believes her years as a youth counselor, a Stephen Minister, a womens ministry leader, and a small group leader fuel her desire to ignite the souls of others through words of truth.
In addition to writing for Spiritually Unequal Marriage, Dineen has won several prestigious awards for her fiction, and her devotional writing has been featured in Our Journey and Christian Women Online Magazine. Shes also a C.L.A.S.S. Communicator and has been featured on the Moody Radio Network, Family Life and Focus on the Family Radio.
Married for 24 years to a guy who keeps her young, she lives in the Bay Area with her husband and two adult daughters, who surprise her daily with their own creativity.
She is the co-author of Winning Him Without Words: 10 Keys to Thriving in Your Spiritually Mismatched Marriage and the author of The Soul Saver.
What was your motivation behind this project? I loved how The Love Dare and the movie, Fireproof, worked together. One gave the truths and principles, backed with Scripture and the other showed them in story. I wrote The Soul Saver to partner with my nonfiction, Winning Him Without Words. This is a story about a mismatched couple grappling with the loss of a child and their faith differences (shes a Christian and hes an atheist).
These types of marriages face a lot of spiritual warfare because theres a soul at stake. I wanted to show that too, so I added a demon to the story. Hes not out there, like a horror movie, but hes a tool to show how our marriages can be targeted for destruction. Any marriage. Then bring in temptation. My heroine finds herself drawn to a pastor who represents what she wants most in her husbandhes a man of God. What she doesn't know is that hes being used as a tool to destroy her.
That part came from our tendency as the believing spouse to see only what our spouses arent and miss the wonderful blessing God intends them to be in our lives. I can honestly give my husband, who is also an atheist, most for the credit for my desire to study the Bible in depth and to constantly seek God for wisdom and guidance in my marriage. Im a missionary in my own home. Thats a position I hold dear.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? A better understanding of those who are in spiritually mismatched marriages and the challenges they face. I would also love to see men and women in general take a stand for their marriages and be intentional every day about loving their spouse the way Christ calls us to. That agape love is powerful!
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? A fair amount of Lexies story is my story and many others who are spiritually mismatched. Oddly (or should I say godly?) sometimes elements in my stories parallel my life in an almost prophetic way. As I started to write The Soul Saver, I knew Lexie and Hugh lost a child to a brain tumor. And Hugh was a physics professor at Stanford. Shortly after I started writing the story, my teenaged daughter was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor. Lots of miracles happened through that time, including a successful complete resection (removal) of the tumor and only radiation was needed for her treatment, which was specially designed by a physics professor at Stanford. God-bumps anyone?
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? I adore the stories in the Bible. Talk about flawed characters! I read them and see their struggles. They persevere, they're not perfect, and yet they inspire me because in their weaknesses we get a true glimpse of God's unconditional love. So God and the Bible are huge influences for me.
I've always been a fan of Oswald Chambers and just last year discovered Sarah Young. Fiction wise, I'm a big fan of Ronie Kendig, Robin Caroll, Robert Liparilo, Tosca Lee, Ted Dekker and Susan May Warren. And those are just the ones that pop in my head at the moment. My shelves are full of even more amazing authors.
