Product Description

In the small Lake Erie township of Benning, someone is at work cultivating a supernatural garden ...

Andy Kemp's young life has been as ravaged as his scarred face. Disfigured by an abusive father, the teenager hides behind his books and an impenetrable wall of cynicism and anger.

As Andy's mother struggles to reconnect with him, his Uncle Rip returns transformed from a stint in prison and wants to be a mentor to the reclusive boy, doing everything he can to help end Andy's pain. When Andy begins hearing strange music through his iPod and making near-prophetic announcements, Rip is convinced that what Andy is hearing is the voice of God.

Elsewhere, police officer Heather Gerisch responds to a late-night breaking and entering in one of the poorest homes in town. She soon realizes that the masked prowler has left thousands of dollars in gift cards from a local grocery store.

As the bizarre break-ins continue and Heather pursues the elusive "Summer Santa," Andy and Rip discover an enormous and well-kept garden of wildflowers that seems to have grown overnight at an abandoned steel mill.

Soon, they realize who the gardener is, and a spree of miracles transfigures this small town from a place of hopelessness into a place of healing and beauty.

This is a gripping storyline that you won't want to put down. I don't advise starting this at bedtime, you won't want to go to sleep because you will want to read just one more page and then another page. This is William Sirls best yet. I've read his book THE REASON and it was good but this is even better. I haven't heard of anyone that read it that didn't give it 5 stars.

Andy was disfigured when he was a child by his father's abuse to his mother. He was only a toddler and believed his father when he told him it was his Mother that threw the hot water on him. As a result Andy treat his mother with anger, mistrust, rudeness and is disagreeable with anything she tries to do. His only adult male for an example is his uncle , who was just released from prison.

This book has humor, deals with forgiveness, wonderful characters that you will love, a mysterious garden, a broken IPod that sends mysterious music and messages to Andy. A blind minister, a summer Santa and wonderful characters. Its faith, hope and love that provides healing. This is not a romance story but it involves love of family and friends. It shows how God is able and willing to go the extra distance to bring His children to him.

I received this book from the author through the Book Club Network, www.bookfun.org and was asked only to leave my honest review. I highly recommend this book. William Sirls is an author to follow. His books just keep getting better.

William Sirls' books are compelling reads. Even though I read them several weeks ago, I can't wait to read them again because I know I will still enjoy it and get more from it. They are deep, thought-provoking, inspiring, and enjoyable books. I can't wait to read more of this author.

The Sinners Garden revolves around an abused mother and son, her brother,a friend, and a minister friend. There is dishonesty, a former convict,a garden, a "Summer Santa", and bullying. This one also has it's own lessons to teach.

I recieved them from the author and the Book Club Network in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Sinners' Garden by William Sirls spoke to me deeply. Sirls was able to reflect on his own life and bring the faith that he developed through his experiences into this book.

The characters in The Sinners' Garden, Heather, Rip, Judi and Andy all needed God's love through different difficulties in their lives. One was troubled by an unsolved murder, one was abused by a former spouse, her child was also affected by the abuse but did not know who to blame and the other was a rock for the others to turn to, even though he was a former convict.

Each had their heart touched by an iPod, the words of a boy, a "Summer Santa," and a miraculous garden.

It has been a long time since I have felt a book touch me as this one has. Thank you Mr. Sirls.

Thoughts- I enjoyed this book more than The Reason. It was more believable, I like the characters better, and it was less like a fantasy, supernatural read. The entire " God speaking through an iPod " bothered me, but the storyline was well done. I loved the character Andy. I seemed to relate to him more than the rest. Many of the characters are totally believable in this book and endearing as well. This book made me think and is full of many life lessons that are too many to name. After being disappointed in the first, I was pleasantly surprised that this one wasn't as difficult to finish. A few loose ends makes one think, though, that it needs a sequel or just had to end because of length. Three and a half stars, and a person can't read this book without thinking about many internal spiritual struggles that we all face.

I received this book through bookfun.org for my honest opinion which I have given.

The Sinners' Garden: Another winner for William Sirls. Just as amazing and powerful as The Reason and hard to put down. Loved it. Hope there will be another book soon.

This book is inspirational and reminds us that God's love for us is unconditional no matter what we have done. He is always with us. As written in His word God sometimes uses real everyday people to get our attention as He has in this story. Sometimes in unusual ways. But and IPod? A garden?

The Sinners' Garden appears mysteriously overnight on a barren stretch of land. It is beautiful and peaceful. What connects the characters to the garden?

God uses a teenager Andy Kemp to speak through. Andy is angry and bitter about the terrible scar on his face. Judi, Andy's mom wonders why her son seems to hate her. Rip, Judi's brother was saved while in prison. Pastor Welsh is very knowledgeable of God's word, and wise. Heather works for the police department and has a lot of things she needs to work through. Then there is the summer Santa. Who is his or her identity? All strong characters.

Again the author includes so much in his book. God's love, faith, inspiration, forgiveness, redemption, some humor and supernatural fantasy. Cried some, laughed some.

William Sirls is a great writer and I highly recommend this book.

I received this book from bookfun.org for my honest opinion and review.
