Jealousy. We all have to deal with it--both in ourselves and in others. Jealousy is rooted in our natural fears and insecurities. It has damaged relationships since the time of Cain and Abel, and still does today if we let it. In this wise and compassionate book, R.T. Kendall tackles, head-on, the sin that no one likes to admit to. He shows that it is only when we grasp that it is God we should aim to please that we will be able to recognize and overcome jealousy and, like Jesus, be jealous only for the glory of God.
R. T. Kendall is author of the best-selling title Total Forgiveness. Born in Ashland, Kentucky, he was educated at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Oxford University, and was the pastor of Westminster Chapel in London, England, for twenty-five years. Known internationally as a speaker and teacher, Dr. Kendall is also the author of more than forty-five books, including The Sensitivity of the Spirit, The Thorn in the Flesh, Grace, Pure Joy, Imitating Christ, and The Anointing: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow. Not only does it discuss jealousy, how it affects YOU and your dealings with others; it gets to the 'nitty gritty' of how bad jealousy can be, with scripture to back it up. I especially appreciated the chapter " 13 ways to fight jealousy". This chapter is worth the price of the book. A good book!

If we only knew how much the sin of jealousy has hindered the work of the Holy Spirit in the local church.
Cafe Lily Book Reviews4 Stars Out Of 5August 12, 2010Cafe Lily Book ReviewsThis latest book by R. T. Kendall spoke volumes to me from the very first page. There are many applicable points in this book definitely a great title to add to your personal library. According to the author, jealousy is easy to fall into because it feeds on our insecurities. It is a very subtle sin and many times, we can bejealous of someone or something and not even realize it. No one is immune to this sin yet it is rarely addressed or talked about. R. T. Kendall wrote this book to not only help us recognize jealousy and be freed from the bondages of it, but to help us understand ourselves and others. I highly recommend this book!
