Author/Artist Review

Author: C. Kevin Thompson
Located in: Leesburg
Submitted: March 31, 2014

Tell us a little about yourself.  C. KEVIN THOMPSON is an award-winning author, a drummer is his church's praise band, and an educator. He is also an ordained minister and holds a B.A. in Bible from Houghton College (New York), an M.A. in Christian Studies from Wesley Biblical Seminary (Mississippi), and an M. Ed. in Educational Leadership from National-Louis University (Illinois). When he's not writing, he's spending time with his wife, Cindy, of over 33 years. He has three daughters, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I wrote this book to bridge a gap within the Christian fiction market. Guys like me love to read the Michael Crichtons and Douglas Prestons in the secular market, but as Christians, we get weary of dealing with the language and the anti-biblical views often portrayed in the characters and overall storylines.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  An appreciation for God's Creation from a scientific perspective.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  By how current God's Creationary Work is. Everywhere you turn, there are new discoveries being made which confirm His handiwork. You just have to have "eyes to see and ears to hear" what the discoveries are telling mankind as it searches for answers to the meaning of life.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  I've been heavily influenced by John Wesley, John MacArthur, and Chuck Smith. Their biblical insight inspires me. As for fiction, there are many. Too many to list here. Music? Most praise & Worship (Tomlin, Redman, etc.). Downhere. PFR. Steven Curtis Chapman.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I write edgy fiction. Edge-of-your-seat fiction. Fiction that makes you think. Ponder. Question. Seek. It's a ministry as much as it is a profession. I want it to be an extension of my life (as salt & light). Not just something people read JUST to find pure enjoyment.
