Grammy Award-winning recording artist Michael W. Smith makes his film debut playing Ethan Jenkins, a musician-turned-pastor who's rocking the pulpit and his well-to-do suburban flock. When the church board sends him on sabbatical, Ethan decides to help Second Chance Community Church, an inner-city fellowship. But Pastor Jake resents Ethan's arrival. thought this movie was wonderful. It brings out that we should be all equal and love each and every color that god put on the earth. We should not be prejudice.

This movie is okay, but DEFINITELY not family friendly...I was shocked at the language considering I purchased it at a CHRISTIAN BOOKSTORE! I wanted a refund...the plot would have been fine it they had filtered the language...even the PREACHER has a fowl mouth...I can't believe that Christian stores sell this movie...still shocked & would NEVER recommend this movie & I own over 300 DVD's very few would I not recommend purchasing after I had watched them...this one is #1 on that list!

The theme of the story was good, but they could have left off the bad language. Don't think that a "supposedly" Christian movie should have that kind of language in it.

Excellent! Really good story line; I didn't think any "corny" items were in the film; believable characters. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars? The story was told too "quickly" -- the characters didn't have time to develop. But I'm grateful we have the film; we gave it to a young person for a Christmas gift; and he loved it!
