James5 Stars Out Of 5Reese Chronological BibleJune 4, 2015JamesQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book is a must for the serious Bible study student. It travels through the Bible beginning to end in such a way to make me (the reader) feel like they are living in the era as it happened.
Sharon HHouston, TXAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5This is what I've been looking for all these yearsJune 12, 2013Sharon HHouston, TXAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I love to read and this makes reading the Bible almost like reading a TRUE novel. Knowing that the Bible does say that God's word can be understood by finding the nuggets "here a little, there a little" this puts those nuggets in an easier to find and understand format. So far I have purchased one for everyone in my immediate family, and I intend to continue to share it through gifts to others. I have also recommended it on a Christian Women's Blog to which I belong.

HomeschoolChristianMomAge: 25-34Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Some previous reviews must have different editionNovember 6, 2012HomeschoolChristianMomAge: 25-34Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I noticed that some previous reviewers had made statements that this chronological bible "pushed" the gap theory (old world creation, millions of years going by during Creation week). I double-checked the introduction to the copy I am currently holding in my lap and found what I consider to be the source of this- there were multiple editions of the Reese Chronological Bible published. The one I'm holding has an ISBN number of 0-87123-115-8 and had a copyright of 1977. The introduction states: "A number of changes and corrections have been made since the first edition was published. Suggestions or comments will be considered in future printings." The following page, titled, "A Final Word About the Dating" states "The beginning of time has always been highly debatable in the scholarly world. Advocates of the "Gap Theory" allow for millions of years between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. This view has been advocated by such scholars as Harry Rimmer, C.I. Scofield, and M. R. DeHann. In recent years the thinking of many has shifted to the position that Gensis 1:1 and 1:2 have no gap between them and that the earth is not millions of years old, but actually of recent vintage- God creating a mature world, just as He created mature man and animals. ... May the dates and titles be kept in proper perspective. They are only aids. This Bible would be of great value without them. Only the Scriptures themselves are really important and inspired." Also, there is a general index in the beginning which outlines the contents, and in the back there is an index in traditional Bible order telling you the page number of every chapter in this Bible, so you can always find out what you're reading or track down a passage you want to look up. If you are on the fence about whether or not to get this Bible, make sure you're getting the most recent edition and you will NOT regret it!!!
