The call is from a woman Emma despises most in the world--her father's wife. Emma's stepmother, a woman who had taken away Emma's father, not once, not twice, but three times. She had turned Daniel Seeger into a "born-again" Christian, married him, and dragged him off to Israel, where they worked as some sort of missionaries--an occupation Emma views as misguided, if not outright dangerous. Now Emma learns that her father has disappeared!

Intriguing from the very beginning, it grabbed me from page one and I couldn't put it down. Emma wants to find her father, but she also ends up questioning her own beliefs, learning about others, and ends up on a quest of faith (as many people are.) Modern, as well as old, questions were asked and answered in a solid and understandable way that we could all relate to and pass on. We are all faced at one time or another with questions of our faith, or lack thereof; but the way this book was written we can all learn something from it. That, and the political issues surrounding Israel were factually written and gives the reader an upclose and personal view. It was a very well written book. Age-wise I believe teenagers would enjoy it every bit as much as any adult.
Wendi4 Stars Out Of 5A quest within a questOctober 25, 2011WendiQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 4This was a very good book. Intriguing from the very beginning. As it got closer to the end, I couldn't put it down. I had to find out how it ended. Not only is Emma on a quest to find her father, she also ends up on a quest of faith. Many questions were well answered. It was a very well written book. I think that even my teenagers would love to read this book as well.
