This is the best introduction commentary to Isaiah I have ever read. It provides an easy to read format combined with a non-technical language that informs the reader and makes the reader learn something he/she may have over-looked before. I recommend this book to anyone who wants a great commentary in one volume to Isaiah.

Alec Motyer brings beautifully expanded knowledge to our women's study of the book of Isaiah. We are gaining a greater grasp of the greatness of our God! Lee Mowers

A truly well written, well thought out, commentary on Isaiah. I find the book to be worth having for reference purposes but it's *not* user-friendly for those who are in a time-sensitive study. Motyer's style of communication is conversational but he does have a tendency to talk above the average reader. He's writes as though the reader is already familiar with everything he's saying as if speaking to long-time Biblical scholars such as Professors or Phds. I suggest you have a dictionary and a good Bible concordance with you as you read Motyer's "The Prophecy of Isaiah..." I read his book as a main test requirement for a college course and I fell severely behind in the reading requirements because the language Motyer uses is hard to understand for the average student.
