While many of us know about missionaries, we forget the risks they take every day they spend in foreign countries. This book gave a highly detailed account of the capture of the Burnhams and their daily events while under the eyes of their terrorists captors. After reading this, it will be hard to forget to pray for our missionaries everyday.
I heard Gracie Burnham speak on November 14, 2014 in Fort Pierce VOM conference in the MFI Hanger at the airport. It was a thrilling well written personal experience story. I was moved, I laughed, I wept reading this book. (Great for a guy) I bought ten copies to give to non-Christian friends. Ted Seymour Boca Raton Florida
I appreciated the opportunity to be able to read an e-book on my laptop as I have never done this before. It was a very convenient way to read the book and there was no wait for the item to be shipped to me either!
This is an excellent book which I highly recommend you read, but I will not give away anything about it.
I found this book to be a little hard to follow in the beginning but persistence brought me to a greater understanding of what the characters had faced and the strength of faith they exhibited in walking through their trials. I found it encouraging to be reminded that God is always with us, He walks with us through every event of every day. A real blessing. Thanks.
