For three centuries the writings of Brother Lawrence have taught Christians that God is as present in the kitchen as in the cathedral and as accessible in the living room as He is around the Lord's table. This simple, yet profound teaching will empower you to seek the joy of God's presence in the midst of every moment and circumstance.

As the year of 2010 began I felt a leading from the Lord to preach a teaching series called: How Big is God. To bring this series to a close I plan to present a message based on the writings of Brother Lawrence called The Practice of the Presence of God. As a gift to members of our church family; I ordered one copy for each family. This little book has changed my life and continues to have great impact upon my personal spiritual development. I always appreciate the service of CBD for a great price and dependable delivery as needed.

It's a classic for a reason. I'm challenged to live God in every mundane and amazing moment of my life. The old English translation makes it necessary to reread some sections to make it clear, but if you have a heart to drink God in, this is worth the effort.

I have loved this book since first discovering it back in the 1970's. Why? As the the trials, temptations pleasures of this world pull us in many directions, Thomas a'Kempis gently leads us back to Jesus and shows us how to experience His love and presence on a daily basis and in every situation. There are several translations on the market today but this Moody Classic by far exceeds them all.

This little book is a sincere message from a person who centered his life on a continuous and intimate life with God. It focuses on the practical moments in life and how they should be yielded to God as a matter of worship. It is very encouraging.

This was a book well worth reading. A refreshing look at what is really important. God is always with us, wants us ease up on ourselves, and start to love one another. When we "Give IT up" to Him (whatever IT is) we really need to let IT go. Then we can move on, begin to forgive ourselves which is the only way we can learn to forgive others.
