Publisher's Description

Today, following decades of scientific and psychological study, there is overwhelming evidence that mother love does forever shape the life of a child. In her compelling new work, however, author and psychologist Brenda Hunter presents a convincing argument that indicates this love is even more powerful, even more far-reaching than our culture has yet realizednot only for the child, but for the mother.

Affirming the immeasurable value of the mothering role while realistically addressing womens greatest questions and concerns, Hunter clearly reveals how mother love positively affects the way a woman defines herself. All mothers, and all those who care about the lives of women, children, and the future of our society will be dramatically impacted by this not-to-be-missed book, skillfully written to empower women to mother from the heart.

I haven't finished the book, but so far it is great and I think the website is the best, I can always find inexpensive books here.

Many excellent concepts in this emotionally charged book. I was challenged to invest whole-heartedly in my children while knowing that the reward would be more than monetary. I was encouraged with the reminder that God "pinch hits" for us when we fall short as mothers. Knowing that there is only one Bible, I still feel that this is a book I would highly recommend to all of my mother friends. In fact, I just bought six copies to give away!

This book clearly shows readers the irreplaceable importance of developing a true and loving mother's heart, not only for Momma, but for her husband and children. Any mother would benefit from reading it and find encouragement and uplifting.

A Christian friend recommended reading this while I'm pregnant with my first child. However, I will give it to a second hand store for several reasons. First, I do not personally enjoy reading a book where the author constantly quotes other books and authors; my opinion is that the author hasn't done their job. Next, though the author is Christian and quotes scripture, the books and authors which she does quote are borderline New Age (center yourself, feel the universe, etc.) On a positive note, she does however include many mother's experiences leading up to child birth and their experience as mothers. Yet, I personally feel the Holy Spirit led me to put this book down. I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone.
