I am so pleased with this book. It is a beautiful story for children (mine are 2, 3 and 5 years old). The illustrations are so warm and cuddly, the story is so beautiful and well-written, and a related Bible verse is included on each page. The story can be just read and enjoyed as is, but there is so much more to it that, depending on the age of the children, you can use this as a starting point for teaching about how God gave His Son for us/ making sacrifices/ serving others. Younger children can enjoy the story, older children (and parents!) can get so much more out of it. It is a good-quality hardcover, as well.

We love Liz Curtis Higgs' books! Great illustrations and story line. Our girls are 2 and 4 and love having it read over and over. The Scripture on each page makes it easy to point the parable to the LORD.

This is a fabulous tool to help teach children giving to the less fortunate and not hanging on to material things. Great book as are the others in this series. I wish she would write more children's books!

I thought this was a cute addition to ourfamily's collection of Christmas books. I would say that it is definitely better for the younger kids, but worth it.
