This exclusive and official companion volume to Mel Gibson's film The Passion of Christ invites readers to ponder some of the most powerful still photographs from the movie. Gibson provides a foreword in which he briefly describes the inspiration for making the film and explains his decision to draw on Scripture and "accepted visions" of the Passion as the sole texts for the screenplay. In the book, relevant Scripture passages (from the New Living Translation, alongside Latin and Aramaic) are juxtaposed against stunning full-color photographs of the film's depiction of Jesus' final 12 hours. We see Jesus kneeling in Gethsemane, bloodied by soldiers, brought before Pontius Pilate, mocked by Herod and nailed to the cross. Some images are simply unforgettable-Judas hanging himself from a tree; Mary recalling a poignant moment from Jesus' childhood; a spike being driven through Jesus' palm. This book is absolutly stunning. Well worth the list price to say nothing of the value of the sale price. I gave them as gifts for Christmas to the grandparents. It's a beautiful, large coffee table book. I'm so glad that I didn't pass this up!

A great book! After I saw the movie I got this book and the soundtrack! they were great! Every time I look at that book and listen to the soundtrack I cry! Wonderful book very moving.

If you loved the movie, then you'll want this book. There are page to page of beautiful photos from the movie. It will tug at your heartstrings to see Jesus agonizing in the Garden of Gethsemene, send you to tears with the flogging photos, and your heart will be broken in two when Jesus is crucified. Remarkable book, I recommend this to those who love Jesus and Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ.

This book is wonderful supplement to Mel Gibson's movie, "Passion of the Christ" - which is an excellent depiction of the last 12 hours of the life of Jesus. The book brings back the realism of the movie scenes and allows you to be further in touch with the relevant scriptures.
