Visiting an Indian reservation in eastern Montana, Justin and Jenny Parker see what appears to be the ghost of Chief Thunderbird riding across the night sky. They don't believe in ghosts but other strange things are happening. Could Chief Thunderbird's spirit really be warning everyone away from the sacred canyon?
When the twins investigate further, they find chilling answers--and life-threatening danger--in Death Canyon.

Tell us a little about yourself. I myself grew up overseas in the countries and places described in my books. My parents were missionaries in Colombia. My own childhood was spent canoeing down amazonic rivers, flying in Cessna or bumping over narrow unpaved mountain roads to boarding school in Venezuela, hiking up into the Andes mountains and into the jungles of South America. I have swum with piranhas and swung off jungle vines into a mountain pool. My husband Marty and I spent 15 years ourselves as missionaries in Bolivia, S. A., where several of my books are set. We have 4 children. In June, 2000, we moved to Miami, FL, when my husband took a vice-president position at the international headquarters of Latin America Mission. I continue to visit many countries of Latin America as I train and mentor developing Christian writers there.
What was your motivation behind this project? My motivation was not only to write an exciting mystery/suspense novel for preteens, but to teach solid Christian values and to open children's minds to a great, exciting world of other peoples and cultures not so different under the surface than our own.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope and pray that through Mystery of Death Canyon and the rest of the Parker Twin Series readers will gain a wider world view than their own neighborhoods . .. that through these books they will be able to feel that they know people-- children--of other cultures. And that, like Justin and Jenny, they will also learn to share their own faith with people who are different than themselves.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: BOOK DESCRIPTION: "Tucking his gun into his belt, Dumont picked up a small boulder from the plateau floor, then stepped to the canyon rim. The three figures clung desperately to the side of the clif, but there was no place to duck, no way to hide from their pursuer. He laughed as he raised the heavy stone above his head . . .
