It was hard for Little Acorn to believe he would ever be a big, strong oak tree. Soon Little Acorn grew into Little Oak. But now what was he to do? He couldn't grow oranges like the orange tree or flowers like the rose bush. He just grew and grew until he became Big Oak, and his branches were big and strong-but still he didn't know what he was to do. Then one day Big Oak found that his strong branches were just right for a very special purpose. The Oak Inside the Acorn is the story of the miracle inside each of us. For within every child is the special person God created, just waiting to grow.

What I Liked: I like the lesson; to be what God intended us to be.
What I Disliked: I was a little disappointed with this book. This author is one of my favorites, but the message in this book was simply not as strong as I had anticipated. The message was clear, it just didn't reach out and grab me like most of his other books do.
Overall Rating: Very Good.

I bought this as a birthday gift for a friends 7 year old son. They both enjoyed it very much, my friend said the message was very strong and her son took it to heart. I have to admit I read it before I gave it to him and it brought me to tears. Beautiful story.

I bought it for my 7 and 10 yr old boys. My 10 yr old enjoyed it the most! I will be ordering more for Christmas gifts. If you have a 6 to 11 year old that needs encouragement to be all God created them to be, this book is for them. Beautiful story, but if your emotional like me you might need a tissue :-) Would also be great for a classroom to teach of the changing seasons and growth of God's creation.

Its message is so powerful; it is impossible not to be touched by it. Adults can learn from it as well. Each and every single one of us is special in God's eyes, and He wants us to become vessels into His loving hands. This story is a must read. It is a blessing. Thank you, Max Lucado, for such a wonderful story.
