Product Description

THE NINTH GENERATION Conquering the Giants In the preflood world of unspoiled beauty, a Sethite tree-village is gripped by a strange terror. Another daughter has vanished from the valley. Tracks point to the south-a mysterious continental island-the land of the Nephilim giants. Methuselah's son, Lameck, is forced into a desperate rescue journey that turns romantic, but encounters supernatural opposition unleashed by the angelic adversary, Lucifer. Only Enoch-the one who walked with God-could free Lameck and prepare him to face and overcome the fortresses of evil.

For those who have ever tried to imagine what the earth was like before the Biblical flood- Step back into Genesis-the antediluvian earth that once existed-walk among the behemoths with Lameck, the father of Noah, who lived at the time of Adam. Learn wisdom through the creation, and faith from the fathers, while considering the mystery of the Nephilim and the most dreaded creature, Leviathan. Through Enoch, the glory of Heaven and horror of Hades are also glimpsed. But the greatest revelation to be gained is what the fathers knew about the blood sacrifice that continued from Eden to Calvary-the coming of the Conqueror. The Ninth Generation is more than a suspenseful adventure set in an epic time-frame of history. It contains the classical elements that are found in memorable stories-tragedy, love and redemption. While categorized as historical fiction, it follows the Genesis account and includes additional insights from early historical records and creation / flood research. It is a novel that is designed to entertain and reward in an edifying way.

Author/Artist Review

Author: John Owens
Located in: Coastal Georgia
Submitted: August 07, 2008

Tell us a little about yourself.  I was raised in the south, near the Florida-Georgia coastline, and have always enjoyed the inspiring drama of the Atlantic. I've crossed it several times while serving as a missionary to the former USSR, and also have pastored, taught science, and shared the evidences for Biblical creation with groups. My real fascination, and setting for my first novel, is the ancient earth.

What was your motivation behind this project?  Mankind needs to have hope and victory in the world today. Perhaps readers will discover the principles of overcoming faith, through a novel that is centered on the surviving remnant of a world once filled with evil. Are the times parallel to this present generation? If so, we have much to learn. My motivation in writing The Ninth Generation was to provide a suspenseful adventure that would be both entertaining and equipping for these last days.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  Crafted after the style of Frank Peretti's, This Present Darkness, The Ninth Generation: Conquering the Giants reveals the spiritual dimension operative behind the physical and should be helpful in reinforcing Biblical truths for conquering the giants that we all face.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  This project drew me into a definite closer trust and fellowship with the Creator and Savior Jesus Christ. The novel was a 5-year journey with ongoing research and prayer.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Of greatest influence in enlightening my Biblical world-view was a classic commentary, The Genesis Record, by Dr. Henry Morris.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  This book delves into a beautiful but dark era in ancient human history and offers insight into a mysterious subject - the Nephilim giants (Genesis 6) - along with creatures described by Job, behemoth and leviathan.
